Quote Of The Day

The hazard of being an apologist is having your own words thrown back in your face…

It seems to be that we can forgive a 100-year-old senator for some of the indiscretion of his youth, but, what is more difficult to forgive is the current president of the U.S. Senate (Trent Lott) suggesting we had been better off if we had followed a segregationist path in this country after all of the battles and fights for civil rights and all the work that we still have to do.

The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.

Let’s be honest here: boneheaded racist statements are unfortunately made all too often within our political circles. The difference here is that when Republicans make them, Democrats demand an once of flesh and get it. When Democrats make them, the very same Democrats excuse them.

Oh, and Harry Reid apologized for his comments because they were made public. Had they not been, he’d still be talking to the president, and we all now know what he’d be thinking of him.

With that, which party has consistently demonstrated the least respect for black people?

Why the DEMONcRAT party of course! Martin Luther King Jr. was a republican, was he not? And wasn’t George Wallace (pro-segregation) a democrat?

  2. fozzy says:

It’s pretty obvious why Reid’s words from a year ago are just now coming to light. He’s in big trouble in Nevada, won’t win re-election and now the Dems have an excuse to dump him for a new candidate.

Eleanor Holmes Norton defends Harry Reid, warns Republicans

Reid will enjoy support from the black community because he has “earned it with long support of civil rights and many other issues that matter most to African-Americans.”

It may also be an excuse to review the merits of Reid.

Reid’s opponents “will not find a welcome mat in the black community” if they try to seize on his remarks

While they’re at it, they may also want to confirm sole ownership of the Industry of Racism and Prejudice and exclusive rights to accusations of “racism”. Somethings will never change, but that is the liberals’ progress, of the regressive kind.
