Personally, I’m not surprised by the following comments of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. I believe some liberals are inherently racist hypocrites, and if you disagree, watch how the media and Democrats handle this and compare it to what would’ve been said had the following been uttered by a Republican….
On page 37 of “Game Change, the long-awaited and very gossipy chronicle of the 2008 campaign by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, a remark, said “privately” by Sen. Harry Reid, about Barack Obama’s racial appeal. Though Reid would later say that he was neutral in the presidential race, the truth, the authors write, was that his…
“encouragement of Obama was unequivocal. He was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama’s race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination.”
It’s instructional that some in the United States Senate still use the word ‘negro’, but I guess it could’ve been worse.
What should be shocking is not the words Reid used, but the fact he was stupid enough to say them in the first place, expecting them to stay “private”, and other opinions that won’t be revealed.

I’m sorry, I was absolutely aghast at that evil statement..I’m not kidding..it LITERALLY took my breathe away
“a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one’ ”
are you KIDDING ME?!?!
Just a random thought, but are all liberals in Congress this brain damaged?Harry Reid is only 9 years older than I am and is dumb as a box of rocks.
Someone please send him and ex-lax and his head will cave in.
Obama is an African American? Wow, that’s new. I thought he was a white guy with a great tan.
I mean, he is equally white and black, isn’t he? I choose to consider him white. And he’s a Kenyan – American. His father was Kenyan. His mother was American.
And I am not convinced he was born an American.
syble – it’s fair to know Obama is unamerican. period.
This is from the USA Today story:
This is even worse, people!
He’s not apologizing for the sentiment – merely his expression of it!
When it comes to leftist/elitist racism and hypocrisy, “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” is alive and well.
