Some of you who’ve been here for the whole ride know I used to write long format entries. When I started the Outside The Wire thing, I had to write the “Daily Dose of Reality” that was Constant Contacted out. It was then, I started writing shorter pieces, so I could spend more time of numerous issues instead of one.

definitely know the feeling, Bob. we had a saab that lasted many a year and we damn near pushed it to it’s limit. got us to Southern California and back, from California to Utah a few times and other places too. Sounds like she served you guys well.

on a different note – question for ya. I’m curious how you came up with the whole “____ of the day” thing? It’s funny =P

Doctor’s license in jeopardy after death of abortion patient in San Gabriel

Dr. Andrew Rutland, 66, “committed repeated negligent acts in his care and treatment” of the woman, who died Aug. 3 after being given drugs by Rutland in preparation for a second-trimester abortion.

It’s not “birth control” when the wrong life is aborted.

Apparently, some people don’t understand the risks or choices. The choice is made long before intercourse. Maybe others will learn from her mistake. R.I.P.

Unions Rally to Oppose a Tax on Health Insurance

When millions of blue-collar workers were leaning toward John McCain during the 2008 campaign, labor unions moved many of them into Barack Obama’s column by repeatedly hammering one theme: Mr. McCain wanted to tax their health benefits.

The tax would affect individual insurance policies with annual premiums above $8,500 and family policies above $23,000, which by one union survey would affect one in four union members.

The unions are joining the “tea party”.

The myth of the “little people” and their party, dispelled.

It’s for “social justice”, people. What did you expect? Ignorant and selfish fools.

    A dead transmission (its second).

    Hey Bob,

What was the cause of death?

  7. BRFan says:

From the looks of things, it seems you had personalized plates.

Same with my own car. I overindulged a bit and went for new back in 2008

    2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0S (Manual 6-speed)

I love that car but it has one MASSIVE FLAW, which all Nissan vehicles have.

During winter, the windows have ice forming on them, outside the vehicle as any other…but they also ice up INSIDE. unless I set my fans on A/C when i turn the car off (so it cuts off exterior air circulation)

I’ve never had any other brand of car do this (much less “A Brand New Car!”)

But still, I love the little demon. (and it is a little demon, It always wants to surge ahead when starting from a standstill)

Reminds me of my 1994 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, which I had to part with after 8 yrs. and 276,000 miles because the tranny died. You do get attached to vehicles, especially when they have been mostly reliable.

  10. fboiteau says:

May its parts service someone who needs a cheap disc or car door.

It’s recycling will certainly “save” a few others.

    Unless it got cubed…

Goodbye old friend. I know just how you feel, Bob. I have actually bid teary farewells to autos I’ve owned. Keep the memories, trash the car.
