The United States Census Bureau and the United States Congress.
They forgot to include “colored” and someone’s going to feel left out.

Write in, “human”…
There are apparently very few of us left.
I agree with the gentleman in the video, why does there have to be a “race” question? Are we not all simply “Americans”?
Good Grief, Charlie Brown, these race-baiters have taken their race sensitivity gain controls and turned them up to 11!
Since when has “Negro” been a bad word?? What am I missing here?
I remember “Black” being touted in the ’70s, and nowadays “African-American”, but only in the LLL’s minds has Negro been a bad word.
Machine, Tabcola, agreed. Homo Sapiens Americanus is good enough for me. But I’m just a dumb Engineer…

I had the census worker come to my home. He left shortly after I told him that I consider the survey an “unreasonable search” and required a warrant before answering the questions.
Gotta love the 4th ammendment!
Jacob, when the Census worker comes around, I will tell them, “TWO” and leave it at that. The ONLY job of the Census, according to the Constitution, is to “enumerate” the population. That means COUNT them, not ask personal questions like, “Are you married? What’s your income? How many flush toilets do you have?” If they want to get pissy with me, I’ll get real mean with them and ask them to leave. Now.
See, I just flat don’t trust my government any more, so no dog biscuit for them…
Igor
Absolutely, only answer the number of people living in the house.
10 years ago I answered only the Constitutionally-required questions and they sent a woman to my home to badger me about my religion, race, income, and a host of other questions.
I answered “None of the Government’s business” to each and every one and man, was she frustrated! It was GREAT!
Insensitive or confused?
Four words:
United Negro College Fund
No one should be surprised by the mass confusion.
Tabcola:
Without it, the Industry of Racism and Prejudice would collapse overnight, and the human race would finally progress. There are too many special interests that profit from perpetuating dvision by classes, and will oppose any attempts at reconciliation.
There is obviously a group of people who identify themselves by the “negro” label.
Do we insult them by denying their identity?
Should people who do not identify themselves as “negro” be eligible to benefit from businesses that serve that group?
Should those groups deny benefits to anyone who identifies themselves with another label?
Does the government unite or divide us, when it classifies people by trivial distinctions? Does MLK’s insight mean nothing?
I guess because whites aren’t usually labeled as Caucasians, maybe that is the difference?
We use colorful language – white, black, brown, red, and yellow to label various races when none of them really apply.
We may as well use eye color or hair color, or height or weight to divide us into groups. Would that make a difference? The problem is with Diversity – we cannot have it both ways. Keeping our differences while pretending to be one… nation, group, or so on.
Human is what we all are.
n.n., when I was in college, there was a very old man who self-identified as Negro. He hated the term “African-American” because he wasn’t from Africa. He mentioned that there was a push at one time to use the term “Afro-American”, but it hadn’t stuck.
MissJean:
Exactly. There is no consensus. Not that it would matter, when there is even one dissenting voice.
The liberals/progressives intentionally or otherwise, risk insulting people on the right, left, and middle. Their failing is that they deny individual dignity and practice group politics. It will be their loss, should they continue their regressive policies.

Can’t you say the same thing about conservatives?
When I grew up we were “Colored People” and thru the subsequent years some mysterious authority kept giving me a new designation
Now I am faced with a decision (to be made in days!) of what box
to select when choosing the race of my daughter.
My wife is Russian (as an aside she, like other Russians, do NOT like to be called “white” and have commonly used the term “n*gger” for Black people in Russia)
Here’s hoping that when she has grown up that one no longer has to worry about such things or even wear their race on their “sleeves’ (i.e “Black and Right”)
Last paragraph refers to my daughter and not my wife…
Dratster, you may wish to ask yourself whom it was that came up with the need to hyphenate us.
Hint: it wasn’t conservatives…
