Most of you have already heard…
Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.
Of course, our prayers are with Rush.

dratster:
Since you present yourself as a “neutral” observer (your statements belie that conclusion), what do you believe?
Mayhaps neither is all right and neither is all wrong.
Correct. However, when people distinguish between involuntary exploitation for “social justice” and for personal gain, then their motives must be questioned. When people believe in a diversity of colors, shapes, sizes, religions, sexual orientations, etc., rather than a diversity of individuals, then their motives must be questioned. When people proclaim concern for “those without a voice”, and their reference is to animals, then their motives must be questioned. When people deny the faith of over half the world’s population, while presenting a hypothesis of evolution supported by circumstantial, incomplete evidence, and speculation, then their motives must be questioned. When people seek to normalize deviant behaviors, at the potential expense of the species, then their motives must be questioned (e.g., homosexuality should not be normalized, but individuals should be allowed equal participation in society independent of their couplings).
There are other distinguishing factors, but I am only a part-time participant in politics. I would have preferred to remain neutral, but a confrontation has been forced, and there are clear distinctions between the sides. I do not fully agree with all conservative principles, but I disagree with far more “progressive” principles.
There are remarkable similarities between the “progressive” system, and that of the old systems. They push for the government, composed of mortal beings, to supplant the roles of emperor, king, dictator, secretary general, and their courts. They have changed the semantics, but the underlying themes remain the same.
this country is tearing itself apart
Yes, that is the primary concern. This division was, and continues, to be sewn by people who perpetuate “racism” and prejudice. We are threatened by people who deny both God and nature, who advocate for inequality before the law, who promote involuntary exploitation of some for the benefit of others, and who frequently resort to crying terms of prejudice in order to quell dissent. In short, those who litigate and legislate to curb our liberty and rights. These people pose a far greater danger and are subverting the social compact, which makes our society possible.
where we look at many with the suspicion of them NOT being “Real Americans”
I live in a principally conservative state, and this suspicion has not extended to our Arabic, Persian, Indian, Chinese, Muslim, etc. neighbors. We judge people as individuals, irrespective of their origins. While I cannot speak on everyone’s behalf, the people I know, including my neighbors, agree with my assessment. When people come together willingly, there is a potential for friendship. When people are coerced into accepting each other, then those policies will only breed resentment and promote division.
There exist incompatible philosophies of life in this world. If you believe your philosophy to be superior, then resist and defend your position. People with competing philosophies will do the same. Without claiming absolute knowledge of “good and evil”, to the victor will go the spoils — this is a given.
–And that’s OUR fault?
Yes, I believe it is. Our dependence on oil has created so many situations that have lead us to today.
Starting with the Shah in 1954 to supplying arms to the Mujahideen to fight the Soviets and then helping to create Saddam Hussein as a foil to Iranians (while supply arms to both during their war).
So now I have to wonder whether the supposedly innocent and constitutionally protected right of praying in the airport is really a precursor to something heinous.
Makes me believe we need to completely divest ourselves from the insanity called the Middle East and let them destroy thenmselves. Even thinking that perhaps Pat Buchanan wasn’t so out their with some of his opinions.
–As far as what makes me so right? According to our First –Amendment, I can have and share any opinion I want.
IMHO, what an odd answer to that question. I suppose then that applies to those people on the left. I look at their equally invective filled opinions and wonder how in the hell this nation is ever going to survive our current divisions. Both sides are yelling that the other side is completely wrong and our side is completely right.
I suppose the only thing to hope for is a future like Clarke envisioned in “Childhood’s End”.
–your account is active
For now, but I understand that you have occassionly given someone the boot when they become too annoying…:)
For example, we’ve elevated this “war on terror” to such a level where we look at many with the suspicion of them NOT being “Real Americans” or diverting flights because a christmas package looks a little suspicious….
And that’s OUR fault?
As far as what makes me so right? According to our First Amendment, I can have and share any opinion I want. The difference between your side and mine is that I invite the dialogue (your account is active) while your side shouts down opinion it doesn’t want to hear.
–When the language is skewed and history obfuscated, it is reasonable to expect that many will yearn for a time long ago. However, though there are legitimate and irreconcilable differences between people
So what makes you worldview so right and theirs so wrong? Mayhaps neither is all right and neither is all wrong.
The only think I know, beyond your prose, is this country is tearing itself apart and our external enemies are looking at us with amusement.
For example, we’ve elevated this “war on terror” to such a level where we look at many with the suspicion of them NOT being “Real Americans” or diverting flights because a christmas package looks a little suspicious….
Rush Limbaugh Said Comfortable After Chest Pains
(dated: 12/31)
there is hope that we become more civil all around and less ignorant
When the language is skewed and history obfuscated, it is reasonable to expect that many will yearn for a time long ago. However, though there are legitimate and irreconcilable differences between people, the presence of wayward people is not unique to those who advocate for involuntary exploitation.
They deserve some credit. It actually requires substantial intelligence to influence and control another sentient being. Their words and actions are premeditated and thoughtful, and their leaders are fully aware of the negative, and regressive, consequences inherent to their philosophy.
So, let us compromise. The “elites” and their supporters will be separate and unequal, while others will be enslaved to serve their purposes. Oh, that’s right, the same compromise was made with the old systems. The very systems that the progressives purport to oppose. How far to the left will they force us to regress?

You need at least three datapoints to come to that conclusion…:) I am sure that those folks say the same thing about the denizens of this site as well… most unfortunate on all accounts.
But seemst that the majority of the folks on that site as well as HuffPost are either praying for him or wishing him well, so perhaps there is hope that we become more civil all around and less ignorant.
Can you imagine, the more servile and devoid of sentience that you are, the more progressive you are considered. At least that’s what the progressives at “Center for American Progress” would prefer you believed. This confirms how thoroughly perverted our society has become under “progressive” influence.
Maybe the slaves left the plantation too soon? What about “social justice” for the owners and their families… their descendents? It’s unfortunate that a slave cannot simply establish their own plantation and compete with the other slave masters.
This is so exciting! Who will be the new masters? Will it be the “elites” from Persia, Africa, Syria, Arabia, Europe, etc., or some combination thereof?
Hint: If you want to ace the quiz, then be prepared to check your dignity and humanity at the door. The concept of sentience and any personal rights you thought were fundamental, are not welcomed by other members of the progressive hive. Also, it helps if you willingly submit to their mortal gods… queens… whatever. Oh, one more thing, you will be classified by your shape, size, color, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
With those thoughts in mind, I scored 360/400 — extremely progressive (my master will be so proud)!
Good luck!
Get well soon, Rush.
Center for American Progress: How Progressive Are You?
It’s funny, but in the not distant past and the far distant past, the progressives were actually the dominant force. So, why have the regressive “progressives” been able to recover their lost position? Have people become so irresponsible, so selfish, and devoid of respect for others, that they would, once again, support the enslavement of their family, friends, and others?
It is inexplicable that a progressive would distinguish between involuntary exploitation for “social justice” and for personal gain. When did the criteria for enslavement change? Did it occur when the progressives bastardized and perverted the language? Was it a result of an insidious infiltration of our educational institutions and the indoctrination of the dispossessed and vulnerable?
When did the “elite” of the old systems, the emperors, kings, lords, slavemasters, and their court, become the “progressives”? They cannot deny both God and nature, can they? Unless they have invented a mortal god class, that supercedes both and represents neither. Their religion ensures sabotage of character development, and its eventual destruction. It creates a dependant, submissive people, devoid of individual dignity. People who do not even consider the viability and perpetuation of their own species as fundamental.
What a wonderful religion that proclaims the evils of humanity, while proclaiming the magnificence of benevolent humans in government. Was it so long ago that people have forgotten the danger of submitting to mortal gods? Do they really want to be granted their station in life, in lieu of self-determination? Is it better that over 300 million people be your judge and decide your worth, or a progressive bureaucracy?
The progressives are representative of the old systems. The systems of empire, kingdom, communism, socialism, and dictatorship. The people today have progressed and should not forget the revolutions which were executed by their ancestors to remove the despots. Their liberty and rights were earned with great effort and anguish. They should not allow their ancestors’ sacrifice to have been in vain.
There are incompatible ideologies that exist in this world. Those that defile individual dignity in pursuit of wealth and control must be opposed and rejected. The concept of involuntary exploitation has not changed and no amount of semantic games will alter history.
If you support involuntary exploitation (i.e., slavery) then you submit, but if you realize and value your individual dignity then you will resist the resurrection of the old systems under a new guise.
At this time, there are many empowered and influential competing interests which manage to preserve a balance. That balance must be maintained. The moderate position of our Republic can easily be lost if any extreme movement were allowed to dominate. Well, even more than has already occurred.
If you are concerned about private monopolies, then you should be terrified of a government monopoly. There is no alternative with the latter.
