Since we have people from Texas in here…
I heard that Ft Worth and Dallas have had their first White Christmas in 80 years.
Global Warming my @$$.
For those in Texas: How are you dealing with the cold and snow?

What saddens me is the accidents and deaths related to this snow, because (for obvious reasons), people in Texas don’t winterize their car…

“National Organization for Irresponsible Women
Unfortunately a pregnant soldier will have to lose her life for all to wake up”
One of the reasons the military is having so many problems with pregnant members now is that all the precedents for women in the military were set during a peacetime era.
I entered the military in 1979 as part of the first wave of women in the “all-volunteer” force. Commanders had been directed that they would have to “make this work”. Imagine how surprised all the brass and politicians and feminists were when the new female recruits started doing what men and women have been doing for millenia: they started hooking up, getting pregnant, maybe getting married.
The higher ups were too terrified to make a real decision about this as regards the mission. Remember, we were a peacetime military then with rare combat deployments. Pregnant members affected unit readiness, but their fellow military members weren’t in harms way at the time.
Rather than deal with the problem, the military “excused” the pregnant members from hazardous duties due to medical reasons. I can remember some women who were on half-days or total bed rest for months because of pregnancy complications.
So the military decided that it was more important for women to successfully be integrated into the military than to do what was right for the mission. Then the situation overseas changed and we reverted to a wartime military.
Commanders are now powerless to act because all the rules were made when temporary loss of a pregnant member only caused a unit inconvenience rather than the true threat to lives that now exists to that unit because of a loss of combat readiness.
Senator Boxer and her cohorts will never allow the real conversation that needs to happen concerning pregnant women in the military to occur. But the Commanders and troops in the field and, beleive it or not, most dedicated and responsible female members, know that this needs to happen soon.

Obamas leave Bo the dog behind for holiday
Leaving the dog behind to go to Hawaii, has to do with rabies(maybe, you maybe right, it’s a prop). They don’t want it here and there is a requirement that all dogs have a test before going. And a waiting period, to bring the dog in. If someone didn’t do the proper documentation, the dog goes into doggie jail (180 days) to make sure he doesn’t have rabies. Knowing the clowns, they didn’t do the paperwork. Or they just left the prop behind.

Wasn’t one of the victims at Ft. Hood a pregnant woman? I think that counts and yet obviously it doesn’t make a difference to some…
