If I may be clear, Democrats for years have claimed to be this “big tent”. The delivered politicians, local and nationally, who called themselves moderate and centrist. But when Barack Obama became president, all the gloves came off and the far-left progressive wing went into finger-in-your-eye mode. Everything liberals ever talked about trying to achieve privately, they’ve now gone after. Despite poll after poll showing public displeasure in the direction the left is taking the nation, this Democrat Congress has issued a definitive “fuck you” and has maintained its reckless course.
With the looming disaster that could be the 2010 Midterm Elections, one of many Democrats are almost pleading to have the previous charade continued. Give the impression that liberals are really quite moderate people. You know, fool me three times….
The announcement by Alabama Rep. Parker Griffith that he is switching to the Republican Party is just the latest warning sign that the Democratic Party — my lifelong political home — has a critical decision to make: Either we plot a more moderate, centrist course or risk electoral disaster not just in the upcoming midterms but in many elections to come.
All that is required for the Democratic Party to recover its political footing is to acknowledge that the agenda of the party’s most liberal supporters has not won the support of a majority of Americans — and, based on that recognition, to steer a more moderate course on the key issues of the day, from health care to the economy to the environment to Afghanistan.
In other words, bullshit The People.
Many in the punditry will see Daley’s op-ed as a call to moderation, but we’ve seen this episode before, and the American people have witnessed liberal arrogance that was activated the day after Election Day.
William Daley may be blowing smoke, or he very well may be truly concerned that Democrats may not only lose the majority next fall, but “either we plot a more moderate, centrist course or risk electoral disaster not just in the upcoming midterms but in many elections to come.”
What could be the Democrat undoing is their narcissistic belief that the American people are stupid. We wouldn’t want to prove them right… again.

Funny, the Conservatives are the moderates, the classical liberals. If we compromise any more, then we will be moving further left than ever before.
How can anyone with a grain of intellectual honesty, accept involuntary exploitation, selective morality, selective science, group dignity, and disposable humanity?
Whether we want to admit it or not, there exist incompatible ideologies in this world. If anyone is to moderate, then it must be the liberals/progressives. The middle ground is occupied by those who have chosen to compromise between anarchy (i.e., total liberty) and totalitarianism (i.e., slavery). The liberal/progressive movement is detrimental to society, humanity, and the individual.
Let the regressives play their games and execute their experiments in a developing nation. History has already determined that the old systems are a failure. There is no need to resurrect those schemes when their precedents have been clearly recorded and are well understood. Let the old systems remain buried and forever shunned by rational people.
First, I would not believe a word from an unindicted felon like Daley for a second. He probably sees rationing health care achieved and so now he is simply trying to lull everyone back to sleep.
This is not someone who will meet anyone half way. He is a true thug.
The only downside of the explosion of Liberal Moonbattery and the Democrat’s inevitable downfall is that it seems to have given the fringe right license to unleash the crazies as well. The chance to well and truly crush the leftists in 2010 may be squandered if that contest comes down to the winner being the one who convinces the least of their base to stay home in disgust.
