   ‘Harry Reid slips in bombshell. . .’

   The Dems seem to be bent on self-destruction. Conventional pols have assumed that the people they ‘represent’ weren’t paying attention. That has generally been true for a very long time. The Reids of this world don’t appear to have noticed that the wind has shifted.

   I thought it didn’t take a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. Maybe for Harry Reid and company it does.

   ACORN provision in health bill?

   Did you all see that there may have been another side deal cut this past weekend in the Senate health care legislation – and this one could involve ACORN. The Weekly Standard reports that Senator Roland Burris (D-IL) had language added to the Senate Manager’s Amendment that could provide ACORN federal health care funds.

   According to page 241 of the amendment:

   In carrying out this subsection, the Secretary, acting through the Deputy Assistant Secretary, shall award grants, contracts, enter into memoranda of understanding, cooperative, interagency, intra-agency and other agreements with public and nonprofit private entities, agencies, as well as Departmental and Cabinet agencies and organizations, and with organizations that are indigenous human resource providers in communities of color to assure improved health status of racial and ethnic minorities, and shall develop measures to evaluate the effectiveness of activities aimed at reducing health disparities and supporting the local community.    The Weekly Standard reports: “According to a Senate legislative aide, the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now could qualify for grants under this provision. ACORN would also qualify for funding on page 150 of the underlying Reid bill, which says that “community and consumer-focused nonprofit groups” may receive grants to “conduct public education activities to raise awareness of the availability of qualified health plans” (see http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/TWSFPView.asp) .

   Correction:

   The victim, who is Hispanic, suffered severe injuries, and it was possible he may lose sight in one eye. It is not believed, however, that he was the victim of a hate crime. Police said the student who threw the first punch was also Hispanic, and the other students all come from diverse backgrounds.

   The reason it is not considered a “hate cime”, is because the regressives do not believe in individual dignity and therefore do not accept a diversity of individuals. They subscribe to a diversity of shapes, sizes, and colors. They perceive a mere collection of objects, which remain coherent for a short time, and then are observed no more.

   while that’s typical of us conservatives to be false accused of something like vandalism, I fail to see the connection of being a Democrat AND an anarchist..I know a Republican woman who’s married to a man who votes Republicans, yet is a self proclaimed “anarchist”..I thought Democrats and leftists were about TOTAL control?

   speaking of callers, hey Bob, I heard on Glenn Beck yesterday that Obama called into a radio show with some congressman who I believe was retiring and Obama called in as “Barry from DC”..that was VERY telling. I seriously think we need to keep the heat up on Indonesian Barry’s BOGUS birth certificate. With so much wrong going on, it CAN be reversed if we can break down his million dollar lawyer’s arguments..

    Nicolas:

    There are two paths that lead to totalitarian control.

    One, is by way of anarchy. The destabilization of a governing structure, in order to facilitate consolidation of control over the weak and divided.

    Second, is a usurpation of power. This involves a gradual or sudden transition to a totalitarian governing structure.

    There are many variations, but all roads lead to fascism. The moderate governing structure requires everlasting vigilance to prevent an imbalance from subverting the system. The corrupt have every advantage.

    The totalitarian governing structure is analogous to private monopolies. However, with a government monopoly, there is no alternative.
