I wonder just how tolerant things really are? After the word “Allah” was removed from Lantern Road Elementary School’s “holiday show” because no other deity was mentioned, we get the usual response.

It’s unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings. Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions.

Siddiqui went on to say “‘Allah’ is the Arabic word for God and is used by Jews, Christians and others in Arabic-speaking nations.”
Funny, I don’t ever remember using the word Allah, that is until 9/11. Funny how that happened, and I wonder how many other religions are even allowed mentioned in schools in Muslim countries?

P.S. Merry Christmas from me too!
“…I wonder how many other religions are even allowed mentioned in schools in Muslim countries?” Indeed, Bob, let’s ask the Catholic diocese in Indonesia about distributing their Bibles and literature that uses the word allah to refer to God. This same person would be having an apoplectic fit if Jesus was mentioned in the program as the Son of God and Savior of the world.
Merry Christmas!
