Hypocrites Of The Day

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - The Copenhagen climate talks will generate more carbon emissions than any previous climate conference, equivalent to the annual output of over half a million Ethiopians, figures commissioned by hosts Denmark show.If we are to take warmers at their word, we must all reduce our collective carbon footprints or the world’s weather will produce deadly super storms, droughts, the icecaps will melt, thus the sea level will rise and submerge our coastlines (not to mention other horrors too numerous to name)… all within the next few years.

I hope at some point soon they show us all how to do it.

Delegates, journalists, activists and observers from almost 200 countries have gathered at the Dec 7-18 summit and their travel and work will create 46,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide, most of it from their flights.

This would fill nearly 10,000 Olympic swimming pools, and is the same amount produced each year by 2,300 Americans or 660,000 Ethiopians — the vast difference is due to the huge gap in consumption patterns in the two countries — according to U.S. government statistics about per person emissions in 2006.

Liberals, environmentalists, elites, continue to have one set of rules and demands for us; rules they conveniently exempt themselves from because they are too important.

We can always hope and pray that the warmers are right. If the sea level goes up enough, it will swamp New Orleans, Miami, DC, Baltimore, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco (a lot of it, anyway) and Los Angeles, all hotbeds (certainly in the case of San Francisco) of liberal Democrat activity.

Big win for conservatives. Maybe for the GOP, too, if the leadership ever gets a clue.

    Hey, Uncle Rick:

Way to look on the bright side! Now to make it into a bumpersticker
    and a t-shirt…. I’ll keep you posted!

  3. Ilion says:

Chicago and Detroit are not on the seacoast.

  4. Palmetto says:

Uncle Rick: Also, it’s possible then that my lot would be oceanfront even though I now live 150 miles from the Atlantic! Wow, think of what that would do to the value of my house and my neighborhood. Yes, that would definitely be a plus.

  5. Mauser says:

So clearly the Greenies want us all to live like Ethiopians.

    ‘splains a lot.

  6. girzwald says:

    @Mauser

While they live like George Jetson.

But they really don’t care if we get set back 1000 years technologically. As long as they have ultimate power they will be perfectly happy with living in the dark ages as long as we are the serfs, and they are the kings. Besides, such a jump back in technology would be advantageous to them. It is MUCH easier to control a bunch of uneducated people without access to information. Thats how the south kept the slaves down.

    Ilion:

“Detroit and Chicago are not on the seacoast.”

Right you are, Ilion. However, they are right on the Great Lakes. I did not check their elevation. Unfortunately, they are too high to flood. Still, when the populations of the other cities rush to these two high-ground holdouts, they will have to live with each other. How long will it be before their tolerance wears thin?

  8. Hoss says:

I’m willing to sacrifice a few million leftists in order to give the Earth a break from their carbon footprints.
