Federal Employee Tax Deadbeats

taxesWhile it’s been reported that the IRS is going to be going after those who owe back taxes, as usual, they should look in the mirror.

At a time when the White House is projecting the largest deficit in the nation’s history, Uncle Sam is trying to recover billions of dollars in unpaid taxes from its own employees.

Federal workers owe more than $3 billion in income taxes they failed to pay in 2008. According to Internal Revenue Service documents, 276,300 federal employees and retirees owe $3,042,200,000.

Here’s a few examples…

— Executive Office of the President (includes the White House): 50 employees owe $812,917;
— U.S. Senate: 231 employees owe $2,469,026;
— U.S. House of Representatives: 447 employees owe $5,809,631;
— U.S. Tax Court: 3 employees owe $39,752;
— Active Duty Military: 27,111 employees $102,474,672.

Maybe it’s just me, but maybe the government should take care of its own house before they decide to raid ours.

    More “innocent mistakes”?

    maybe the government should take care of its own house

    They must provide bribes and cover to retain their supporters, if they wish to protect the castle and the occupants within. Once they fail to do so, then, as history has demonstrated, the castle will be stormed, and the occupants promptly lose their heads.

    How long will their benefactors be willing to purchase their debt, and, once they start calling in favors, will the despots raise our taxes to further sabotage the people’s economy and neutralize their opponents?

    On a related note. Will the liberals/progressives continue to support involuntary exploitation, and affirm their status in history as the slavers of the 21st century? Their leaders certainly hope for that change, and their followers are eager to participate. It is, after all, their right to exploit other people, because they deserve it.

    I am not cynical, just disappointed in this new-age regressive progressivism.
