Democrats must be truly desperate at this point in the health care debate, because they’ve reverted back to their old playbook.
Using black people (and women) again.
Instead of schooling Harry Reid on which party was the party of slavery and the denial of rights to women, Orrin Hatch reportedly acted all shocked and defensive saying, “That is extremely offensive. It’s language that should never be used, never be used. … Those days are not here now.”
As I make the rules here, I may have to soon combine “Racebaiters” with the “Boneheads” who will respond.

You have *my* vote!
Please feel free to do so! After all, it’s your site…

I have to really wonder are those politicians on the right who don’t say (or scream as we do to our TVs and computers) what we are all thinking, stupid or do they not realize that they could be using these ignorant liberal taunts as teaching moments for the sadly uninformed???
I dunno, but for now, I’m with you it is boneheadish.
The Republicans did vote in the majority for women’s suffrage.
They were the party in majority, which opposed slavery.
It may have just been competing interests or self-interest; but, the fact remains, that slavery was abolished, and women’s rights were secured through granting of the right to vote. Without the ability to divine intent and therefore being unable to properly judge the individuals involved, we must decide anyway that the results were highly desirable for blacks and all people who experienced involuntary exploitation, and for women whose equality was previously marginalized.
“All they can say is ‘slow down, stop everything, and start over’”
Slowing this down is the worst thing that libs understand can happen to this. See, speed is on their side. They want a re-action, not a carefully, thought through process. I’ve made some purchases in the past on a whim. They are the car salesmen of our day: I bought a truck that I didn’t research or think about how I was going to pay for it. I liked the way it looked and was emotionally coerced into buying it. It was the worst truck I have ever owned. I researched why it wasn’t a good vehicle after I bought it. It was a lemon that drained our bank account at every move. It cost us even more money to sell it. I just wish someone had said to me, “slow down, stop everything, and start over.” No, the Dems want IMPULSE BUYING like my truck.
When people really look into this and think carefully, they will see that this is not a good purchase for our country (because that is, in essence, what this is). My current car is old, but reliable. It burns a little oil (heaven forbid one of the Envrio-nazis read this). It doesn’t get the same gas mileage. The paint is peeling. When it rains, water gets into the floorboard. See, if I take it to a mechanic, he tells me it would cost $3000 to keep it from burning as much oil, get better gas mileage, new paint job, and fix the door gaskets. Or, I can buy a car that “looks pretty” for 10x that much. I have three kids, so would a Toyota Prius that the government recommends be the best? “Oh, but it has all the bells and whistles!!” Of course, I have to put two car seats in the back along with a booster until they are 8 (law mandated). Hmmmmm? They don’t fit. “But don’t let that stop you!!” Ok, the new car is out of my price range, doesn’t fit my family, and will have transmission and battery problems just at the warranty expires so the car will begin costing more to me (and the environment) in 4 years or so. This example could go on and on, but I would be an idiot to buy the Prius
Unfortunately for the liberals, more and more people are having ‘buyers remorse’ on this president and his administration. Time is not their friend for the impulse buying mode that they are selling. I don’t think there is anything wrong with “slow down, stop, and start over,” especially when we won’t even be able to drive this “new car” that we are buying for 4 years.
