When the majority of us are willing to accept personal responsibility and not expect the Gov't to spoon feed us. Unfortunately, that seems a remote possibility for many folks, they just wander around with their hand out. My wife has pointed out that the left perspective of government is to "take care of the citizens", while the right is for the government to protect the citizens' ability to live their life in a peaceable society. I met an older black lady at an ROTC carwash her grandchild was at, and she just kept going on about how all this terrible stuff her family has had to endure was all Bush's fault. I just stood there going... umm... well some of it yes... but I pointed out that all the government at this point was to blame. And what about since the election? And that blind mindset is SO pervasive yet how can I respectfully tell this kind lady she has been led astray? Simply put, "I" can't.
