ClimateGate Emails Damning

The left is going to perform painful contortions to make the public believe the pilfered emails of climate scientists are being released out of context so the “consensus” that climate change is man-made remains sound.
That “consensus” is now very shaky.
It’s no use pretending that this isn’t a major blow. The emails extracted by a hacker from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia could scarcely be more damaging. I am now convinced that they are genuine, and I’m dismayed and deeply shaken by them.
— George Monbiot, UK Guardian columnist, environmental activistWe’re dealing with an incomplete understanding of the way the earth system works… When we come to the last few years when we haven’t seen a continuation of that (warming) trend we don’t understand all of the factors that create earth’s climate… We just don’t understand the way the whole system works… See, these people work with models, computer modelling. So when the computer modelling and the real world data disagree you’ve got a very interesting problem… Sure for the last 10 years we’ve gone through a slight cooling trend.
— Tim Flannery, Australian mammalogist, palaeontologist, and environmental and global warming activist
So, with a straight face they now face the prospect of looking either like willing accomplices in the global warming-climate change scam, or clueless dupes (not a good thing when you bill yourself as an expert).
Let’s have some fun.
Email samples, shall we…?
Manipulation of evidence:
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:
The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.Suppression of evidence:
Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.
We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.
Let’s see just how good climate change-global warming believers are at lying about lies.
Hint, they aren’t that good.

Jim Jones and Phil Jones their kool-aide has been served. Public policy based on Phil’s has the potential to harm a lot more folks than Jim’s did.

‘the data are surely wrong.’
Of course! The data disagree with your theory. How could they possibly be right? The data and the forces that create them should definitely stop passing notes and pay attention to the professor! Whatever the professor says is right and the forces of nature need to realize that, and the sooner the better!

That picture is AWESOME!! Thanks Bob.
I’ve been reading some of the e-mails. The CRU guys and the media are claiming that they’re being taken out of context. The problem is that many of these are fully threaded e-mails. You get the full context because you can see the whole conversation. Sure they’re throwing around acronyms that might not be familiar, but that’s what search engines are for.
OT: I have a gmail account that I use for my personal stuff. I sent an e-mail to my work account last night that had several conservative URLs in the body so I could remember them. Oddly, that e-mail just disappeared into the ether. More oddly, we use Google’s Postini filtering service, no it wasn’t caught in the spam filter, I checked. I just mention this as an interesting coincidence to see if anybody else has had any “odd” things happen with Gmail.
