"Invincible ignorance" is a (Christian) theological and philosophical term with a specific meaning Invincible ignorance That said, I also sometimes use the phrase in the (technically incorrect) manner in which it was used in the CFP article, that is, as a term meaning a willful refusal to see/know.

Climate e-mail stolen – I love the way that they are claiming that the e-mails are being taken out of context. I especially like that they claim that because the e-mails were gotten nefariously that they shouldn’t be released. Of course, these same sorts of people were doing flips when Sarah Palin’s Yahoo account was hacked and the e-mails released. Even more hypocritical was that there was nothing nearly as damning in her messages as these.

Invincible Ignorance – You’re right, Bob, the people aren’t invincible, but their ignorance seems to be. No amount of facts, or pressure of reality will break through that ignorance. As the article says, the ends justify the means, even in the face of reality and facts to the contrary.
