Pet Peeve Of The Day

One of the things at always annoys me this time of year are commercials and network promos where Christmas carols are altered with dumb lyrics, and the inevitable bouncing ball. Even more annoying are their arrival long before Thanksgiving.

Do network and advertising suits actually think we find this shit amusing…?

I saw this commercial the other day. I suppose I’ve been inoculated to the inane rewriting of the carols, sure it’s annoying. The thing I find most appalling about this is that they’re advocating buying THREE computers. In case BestBuy hasn’t noticed, there isn’t a whole lot of discretionary funds just sitting around anymore. The audacity of them saying that this is what one should do is bad enough, then couple it with their saying that this is what is needed to keep peace in the home?!!? Heaven forbid anyone SHARE anything anymore.

No, and I refuse to do business with any of these bozo’s. They’ll pull Carl’s Junior ads but have this crap stay on the airwaves.

    Buh-bye!

Lately it seems that ads try to disturb, annoy or just plain gross you out, so you’ll remember their product. Remember the pain relieving rub of last year? (funny I can’t remember the name now…it’s on the tip of my tongue! I’m disproving my own point…oh well.) The add repeated the same stupid line until you wanted to hurt somebody.

I’m not sure that’s the case here. Maybe.

On a different note, can we just come up with some new Christmas carols?

No. But this is the Obama economy. They have to choose between crappy low budget commercials or layoffs……
