I like those foods too Nicolas. It’s just that I think government intervention into people’s diets is about the most invasive kind of tyranny there is. There are plenty of food nazis in Congress (like Henry Waxman and Dick Durbin) whose egos are so big they think they can tell us all what’s good for us. And they use these bogus “studies” as propaganda.

Artery clogging coconut oil? That is such bullshit. All of this notion of determining the quality of a food by breaking it down into grams of fat, carbs, and protein is bullshit. This is what we get for having rampant government extending its tentacles into the food industry. Two generations of fat Americans being fed a bunch of lies by media outlets telling them to eat shreds of lettuce and drink pomegranate juice. The ENTIRE theory of cholesterol/saturated fat caused heart disease IS BASED ON COMPLETELY FRAUDULENT SCIENCE. It isn’t even REMOTELY true. Yet we are in danger of it being shoved down our throats a few years down the road here. When Obamacare goes bankrupt, I wouldn’t be surprised if regulators start looking at “poor lifestyle habits” as a target for additional taxation……

well, out here in Northern California, we go to a movie theater chain called Brendan Theaers, and we always ask for LIGHT butter. To us, it just tastes better with a small amount, then we put salt in it, and mix it up. it's good stuff. It's also the reason we buy the similar tasting Orville Redenbacher popcorn

I knew a girl who worked at a theater, this goes back 25 years at least, and she told us they used chicken fat on the popcorn for ‘flavor’. Cannot verify as I don’t go to the movies, hence, no popcorn for me.

Try air-popped popcorn, Pam spray oil and nutritional yeast – YUM! tastes like Smartfood!

The point was made that this is not a staple, once every two months on average is hardly worth a news story. Air popped popcorn isn’t worth the effort of eating it.

CSPI, if you don’t like it don’t eat it, leave me the hell alone! I’m an adult, I am able to make my own decisions. I like the big tub-o-popcorn (with 1 free refill), a humongo Coke, and a big-ass box of Raisinettes…. BOOYA!
