Daley On Oprah Leaving: It’s The Media’s Fault

It had nothing to do with The Oprah’s falling ratings. It had nothing to do with the Queen of Talk being dethroned by a judge. According to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, it wasn’t even really about racism.

It was, in part, the media’s fault…

Oh, and the possibility that Oprah’s pre-election (private) campaigning and post election Obama-gloating and diss of Sarah Palin last fall may have alienated close to half her audience?

Nah, couldn’t be that.

Poor Oprah. She’s going to retire in two years. Gee, I wonder how long that’ll stick before she changes her mind.

Might it also be that she’s been shoveling pseudo-spirituality as much as Tom Cruise? Maybe that’s another item that folks are tired of.

And why would Daley even feel the need to chime in with his opinion? Like anyone really cared what the mayor of Chicago thought about Ft. Hood either. MYOB mayor Daley, you’ve got enough trouble in your own yard to preclude you nosing into another’s.

Daley is the same guy who just blamed the Ft. Hood shootings on gun control law even though they were on a military base and they were, in fact , IN A GUN FREE ZONE. But I guess when you are King thug in the Mob capital of the U.S., logic and brain cells aren’t really needed. I know the extreme gun control laws of Chicago have really made it a safe place where gun violence is rare.

Oprah couldn’t possilbly be getting backlash from ignoring her audience, could she? It takes a huge ego or the delusion of someone who hasn’t been in touch with the real word to do what she did and think that nothing would change. She will never get that original audience back now. Just let her move to CA, where she will be a safe place with the limousine liberals of Montecito, enjoy her house, have her little niche show, and fade out. She had her run and made quite a haul out of it.
