Pelosi doesn't even make any sense with this claim. With all the subsidies, the requirement my health care pay for someone else's pre-existing condition and the mandate that forces everyone to buy insurance, it is hardly likely any of us will contribute less to health care than we already are contributing.

Polosi Doesn't Want Healthcare "Burden Placed on Others"

For a minute there I thought she gets it! She really gets it! But then she kept on talking. No she doesn't get it. It's just a statement to make us believe mandatory government-supported healthcare is a good thing. She doesn't care that all the other liberal programs are a burden on those whose work and contribute.

Wait... if you can't afford it, you can either get a subsidy to buy it or else the cost is passed to everyone else? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE, Nursula?

So, is this going to be a federal Felony rap? Because that would really ruin a lot of people's lives.

Maybe that's a Gun control measure, make everyone felons and they can't own guns....

People need to realize that "liberals" will say *anything* and have no problem at all with saying the opposite of what they've said previously(nor of switching back yet again), without ever acknowledging that the previous claim was in error ... because "liberalism" is built upon lies.

@Shaitana - I'm not sure I understand your opinion clearly enough. What, exactly, are your feelings here... ;)

I agree, that has always been my perspective. I worked for years without any sort of insurance. Sure it was risky. Got bitten by it one time. However, once I got married, I made a career change, my choice, to get a job that provided insurance. I have continued in this way since then. But it has always been my choice whether to do so.

I have a friend who was laid off in Feb. He's got 4 kids and a wife. His COBRA ran out, so he can't afford insurance... hell he can't afford his house payment. But his church, and we, his friends, have all stepped in when there has been need. The difference is that he'll have a job and be ready to go again when the opportunity comes along. He's not waiting for a hand out so he can sit on the couch and watch Oprah.

@ITNerd - you said it. There's that liberal hypocrisy again. It always amazes me that the same folks advocating most vociferously for the latest "Save the african-gay-baby-whale" campaign are also the most vocal advocates for abortion. Logic and consistency never seem to come into play for the liberal mindset.

OK - so when the abortion issue is discussed, the opinion always given by women in favor is "it's MY body so it's MY right!"

Wouldn't that apply same argument apply to forced health care coverage? What if I don't want it? Can't I claim that it's MY body and MY right to treat it however I want? I can get piercings, tattoos, change my hair style and color, etc. whenever I want. If I want to smoke I can since it's MY body.

They can try to force it on the general public, I think it will be ruled unconstitutional.

FUCK everyone else. Yes I said it. Health Care Plans AND Health Insurance Plans (and they are NOT the same thing) is a privilege NOT a right. If you can afford it, great. If you can't, OH WELL, sucks to be you.

And before everyone screams at me....... I feel this is what personal and local charity is for. I actually know people who need help with medical issues and bills that can't afford it because they are true victims of circumstance. Those people I will bend over backwards to help (and I have). But I have always argued WHY the fuck should I support other peoples' BAD choices in life? And make no mistake, 90% of the 'suffering' people out there are in their situations because of poor, lazy, stupid or downright retarded choices in life. For those people I say, either DO something about your situation or accept the consequences of your poor life choices.

I am also a firm believer that aid should be done at the local level. Then it can be tailored to the needs of the specific community. America is too big for this BS One-Size-Fits-All style legislation.
