Quotes Of The Day

Nancy PelosiIf this looming public option/government run health care system is going to be so great, why aren’t our elected leaders (pushing this on us) not signing up for it themselves?

If Congress forces our constituents into a public option plan over time, then members of Congress should be expected to do the same.
Rep. Howard McKeon (R-Calif.)

This is one of those classic hypocritical moments for the Democrats. They simply don’t want to put up with the public option that they are preparing to inflict on the American public.
Matt Lavoie, spokesman for Rep. Wally Herger (R-Calif.)

Forcing members of Congress to walk a mile in the shoes of Medicaid patients I believe is the only way Congress will get serious about making the fundamental fixes to Medicaid that the program needs.
Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas)

Obviously, the Pelosi congress and Reid senate will never inflict upon themselves what they have in store for us. But as long as some of our fellow citizens believe they’re getting something for free they also believe they rightly deserve, that doesn’t matter.

But as long as some of our fellow citizens believe they’re getting something for free But as long as some of our fellow citizens believe they’re getting something for free they also believe they rightly deserve, that doesn’t matter., that doesn’t matter.

    …and therein lies the problem.

The part that is troubling about this statement, they also believe they rightly deserve, is what is really causing the pain. We are all a nation of me-me-me now, with no thought or regard to you-you-you. Both Rush and Glenn have done a good job of pointing this out, and Glenn even went so far as to state that “…this generation will kill us!” Referring, of course, to the “now” generation’s we-want-it-now-and damn-the-consequences that has swept the country.

We lost God, and now our moral compass is broken. This Congress is a prime example. Me-me-me and screw you. The rules don’t apply to me, *I* make the rules.

    Re-elect NOBODY!

(Okay, a bit extreme, there are at least 10 people worth keeping in the fever swamp we call the District of Criminals…)

I agree with the first part and the addendum. Ironically, so does Obama.

“I think the general broad principle is simply that people who are paying for their health insurance aren’t subsidizing folks who simply choose not to until they get sick and then suddenly they expect free health insurance. That’s — that’s basic concept of responsibility that I think most Americans abide by,” Mr. Obama said, “penalties are appropriate for people who try to free ride the system and force others to pay for their health insurance.”

I wonder if the Obama followers are paying attention to their leader’s remarks. I further wonder if Obama is paying attention to his own remarks. Does he realize that even in a so-called equal outcome system, the free market, with its governing principles of supply and demand, rule. Does he also realize that such systems are composed of “elites” and their supporters who are separate and unequal from the rest of the population. Would people prefer that a few “elites” determine their fate, rather than the population as a whole. It would seem that Obama does not believe in involuntary exploitation, but his actions would indicate otherwise.
