Taxes are going to hit a ceiling sooner or later, especially property taxes. They are ridiculous in Illinois, but even worse out east. If you think of all the factories in the U.S. that moved production to China, think of all that lost revenue. So, essentially, we all paid to have the factories moved. We may see tariffs on foreign goods in the future, because, regardless of what the free traders say, every other country in the world, save the U.S., has some sort of protection setup for core industries. Great idea if you don’t want to someday depend on a authoritarian dictatorship to make everything for you, even sophisticated military hardware.
