Igor:

You're right. Unfortunately, we have been conditioned to rely on labels. Frankly, it requires a lot of effort to judge someone on their words and actions, and we simply don't have the time for comprehensive evaluation. Typically, we choose one or several issues by which to pass judgement, and so we compromise on our elected representatives.

The government was intended to provide oversight for the private sector, but who provides oversight for the government. It was supposed to be the press, but they continue to reveal their partisanship, and worse, they defend and attack on behalf of their special interests. Franklin wasn't joking when he stated, "A republic, if you can keep it." It's not easy being free.

n.n, the morons in the private sector don't usually last long. The morons in the public sector get elected and then keep digging once they reach bottom (which doesn't take lone, does it?).

Fools that WE are, we keep electing these snake-oil salesmen/women...

Nicolas:

Unfortunately, there are many people who carry unrelenting prejudices, believe in equal outcome, accept involuntary exploitation, disregard history as uninteresting, practice selective science, and fail to comprehend the fundamental role of the free market in any system.

This reminds me of what happened with communism in the CCCP. Everyone (but the "elites" and supporters) were mandated equal pay. The result was that people performed at a minimal level, since everyone was compensated equally. Essentially, the CCCP's economy was composed of janitors. Once the communists realized the fallacy of implementing their philosophy in the real world, they then introduced compensation and position commensurate to productivity. Unfortunately, for the CCCP and the communists, their change was too little, too late. The damage to the economy had been done and they could not compete. Is it any wonder that the Russians and Chinese have pursued capitalism in their quest to reestablish their empires.

The moral of the story, even in a totalitarian state, the free market is an inescapable truth. For one, the emperors, kings, dictators, secretary generals, etc., simply cannot control the whole economy. So instead, they focus on elements which are crucial to maintaining control over the population. They must prevent people from increasing their disposable income, accumulating resources, and becoming competing interests.

Note to regressives: If you are concerned about a private monopoly, then you should be terrified of a government monopoly. If there are morons in the private sector, then the same morons exist in the public sector. They are all the same, and a distribution and balance of power must be enforced.

I believe that Alvin is jealous. Must be a regressive (i.e., liberal/progressive).

It is interesting to consider that it is the regressives that legislate and litigate our liberty and rights away. They also have an undeniable history of calling people racist and other terms of prejudice. Nope, no projection there.

With regard to the black Muslims (another post), it's interesting to note that the Arabs/Muslims were the first outsiders to conquer and enslave black Africans. However, before the Arabs arrived, there were the competing black tribes and kingdoms. Much like the "native" Americans, their competition was not benevolent, involved rape, pillage, and enslavement. Some things never change, and many people would like to resuscitate the old ways.

Yeah, I know, not quite on topic, but history has a way of repeating itself in reality and my thoughts.

also, "While I would never claim to be all that noble, I am one of many trying to wake up black people."

and your message is DAMN SOLID, Bob, I have to say. I love your message, along with the message from Kevin Jackson, and let's not forget Zo!
I think if were a black guy who sadly was dependent on Dems, and I caught your message, there would be a good chance of my questioning my loyalty to the dems, ultimately giving up my Dem registration, later jumping to the GOP. Being the white republican I am, you definitely helped SOLIDIFY WHY I'm a Republican, shown me just what a JOKE the DemoKKKrats ARE, and that this country CAME FROM Conservative roots, so I can't thank you enough for all that you've opened my eyes to in the past year and a half. you've definitely helped roar this elephant awake

"I love it when those on the tolerant and inclusive left use the very racist language they always accuse others of thinking, and come right out with it verbally to blacks, especially when they display their own ignorance in the process."

I love it too, and racist liberals along with REAL unfortunate uncle tom black folks spout garbage they THEMSELVES are guilty of...

how LONG HAVE the left been projecting their qualities and how in the hell did they come up with LAME strategy that's been passed down through the generations?

Great point,Bob. This is why I read black conservative writers. They have to know their stuff because they get attacked far worse than even white conservatives. This guy speaks in generalities and cannot even state specifics.

As long as a black individual cannot be allowed to weigh both sides and make their own decision without wack jobs like Sharpton, CBC, and other partision political lynch mobs coming out of the woodwork, the status quo will continue. Whites can choose either side with going through this crap. There may be arguments and disassociations, but, outside of academia and hollywood, not near the backlash.

Bottom line: if you can't respect an individual's decision, you don't respect the individual. From my experience, there are alot of black americans with conservative values that talk in whispers out of fear of the backlash from their community. It is fascism, pure and simple.
