So far, “redistributive change” has been to special interests and some token offerings to their voters. I have not noticed that those interests are located in Indonesia (I don’t recall significant involvement with recent disasters in that region), so it doesn’t seem likely that they would comply. However, in order to pursue their agenda, they must deal with any lawsuits. They cannot deny the claims, so they must be deferred. They would likely state that grievances will be redressed through participation in the UN treaty.

    PB-in-AL, Igor:

I don’t know the relevant laws, but I would think if they do pass legislation, that there is more than sufficient evidence to file suit against the government and enforcing bodies. They cannot continue to claim consensus, when there are governments and a growing body of experts whom state the hypothesis lacks merit. No reasonable person would accept a scientific hypothesis supported by circumstantial evidence, nonconforming models, and outright contradictory physical evidence.

At the very least, we now have additional evidence to present to our representatives and ask them to reconcile the discrepancies in this highly controversial hypothesis. Furthermore, ask how they can justify, in a period of recession, sabotaging our economy and the welfare of American people on a failed hypothesis. Every substantiated counterclaim should be gathered and presented to your representative. The same evidence should be presented to others, and allow them to pass their own judgement.

I believe the AGW/AGCC hypothesis has been demonstrated to be false or, at least, weakly supported, and as good scientists, they should review the facts, form a new hypothesis, and test for conformity to observed conditions.

n.n, the Obamination and his Lackeys in Congress are going to shove the AGW crap down the American Public’s throat whether or not China/India signs it or not. It’s the Chicago (Marxist) Way, don’cha know!

@N.n – At least some government officials are paying attention to facts. Yes, it is smart that they are “deniers”. How do you suppose that will play into the attempted lawsuit from Indonesia against the “carbon polluters” for their woes?

no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself

Once again, we are reminded of wisdom that transcends the ages. I know my mettle remains to be tested.

Thanks for the post, Joan in Juneau.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. – John Stuart Mill (1806-1873)

China-India Accord to Scuttle UN Climate Treaty

The two Asian powers will collaborate on the development of renewable power projects and improved energy efficiency programs, while rejecting any outside mandates that would slow economic growth.

    Smart…

Xiao Ziniu, director general of the Beijing Climate Centre, told the British Guardian newspaper recently that “There is no agreed conclusion about how much change is dangerous….Whether the climate turns warmer or cooler, there are both positive and negative effects….In Chinese history, there have been many periods warmer than today.” He disputed the disaster warnings of the UNIPCC, saying, “The accuracy of the prediction is very low because the climate is affected by many mechanisms we do not fully understand.”

Ding Zhongli, vice president of the Science Academy of China. It argued that there is no solid scientific evidence to strictly correlate global temperature rise and CO2 concentrations. Professor Ding noted that some geologists believe that global temperature is related to solar activities and glacial periods, meaning human activity is only one factor that can cause climate change. “Up to now not a single scientist has figured out the weight ratio of each factor on global temperature change,”

“the massive propaganda ‘human activity induced the global temperature increase’ has been accepted by the majority of the society in some countries, and it has become a political and diplomatic issue.

    Very smart…

The governments which represent them outside America and Europe reject the notion that they should give up their aspirations for a better world to appease an unfounded climate paranoia among Western liberals. And they are right.

Democracy in action. The world rejects the Western liberals’ selective science and associated agendas.

China and India, along with Brazil, Mexico and South Africa, have been adamant about staying out of any global requirement.

Well, a large portion of the world anyway.
