The question is being asked: with all that’s going on in the world, why is so important that President Obama go to Copenhagen and personally lobby for a Chicago Olympics?

Now, I’ve just received an email that’s a bit dated. I can’t verify the accuracy, but I’m just throwing it out there because much of it makes sense.

Remember a while back, I told you word on the street was… that Obama was picked to run BECAUSE of the Olympics. Obama had his sights set on Chicago Mayor slot, to run against Mayor Daley and follow in the footsteps of Harold Washington. Daley wouldn’t have that and said ‘run for Pres’.

All the big players on the Chicago Olympic committee were the big money players behind Obama’s campaign and many now “czars” in the WH. It was understood that IF Obama went to Copenhagen the Olympics would be a “done deal”.

Chicago’s elites and Mayor Daley want the Olympics… period.

Makes sense. What about Chicago politics benefits the people first?

Word now on the street is they are really – really – really – pissed at Zero for not going to Copenhagen on 10/2.

Michael Sneed (Chicago Sun-Times) has wind of this now:

The Olympic bid . . .

The gush machine will be flowing full bore when Mayor Daley and 2016 Chicago Olympics Chairman Pat Ryan hit the White House for a visit with President Obama today.

Privately: Both men are furious Obama is not planning to personally present the final Olympics pitch in Copenhagen next month, which, Sneed is told, had been the plan before Obama won the election. “It’s Daley’s legacy and Ryan’s dream,” a source said.

Translation: “There is no way Obama’s advisers are going to let him go if it’s not a done deal,” a top source said.

Further translation: “If Obama goes to Copenhagen and the bid loses, it presents this problem: Obama sets himself up as a lightning rod to make the United States an equal among equals, rather than a leader among equals.”

Like most things done in that crooked city, the fix could be in.

Word is that there’s some balking going on amongst the other parties involved in Belgium. Maybe they don’t like being squeezed. But Daley, Mrs. Obama, and Oprah are there to try and make this happen. If Chicago wins, they only question left will be “Who got paid off?”
