For some reason (maybe the subject matter), you’ll need to push the “full screen” button on the player to actually see the video, and then you can go back if you wish.
Has Bill Maher suddenly forgotten he’s an overpaid, privileged white entertainer who really hasn’t done shit for black people, except use them as punchlines for jokes that aren’t funny?

If Van Jones had been a Democrat in the audience, I wouldn’t have cared if he called Republicans a-holes. I’d have expected it. But it’s not acceptable for someone in the administration to do.
And I don’t that’s why he was fired.
Nor is his being a 9/11 government conspiracy theorist someting that should be allowed in someone serving in the government.
But I’m not totally convinced that’s why he was fired, either.
He’s a racist, saying that “White America” is racist for targeting black areas to pollute in. Pollution is all Whitey’s fault.
I’m pretty sure that’s not why he was fired. That’s probably why he was so well loved by the left.
The thing I can tolerate the least is that he’s a self-described Communist who founded a Socialist program. If the administration has any brains at all, THAT’S why they fired him. Because that’s not the kind of thing you can easily wash away with ranbows, unicorn tears, or HopeAndChange(tm).
Does Bill Maher….just live on another planet?? This casual dismissal of people, if you are white and don’t agree with him or if you are old and white. This where Obama gets it more than this moron. Maher is a fascist insensitive to anyone outside of his own little cheering section. He preaches to the choir, that’s it. I have never seen him debate anyone outside of Ann Coulter. He only debated her because she is actually friends with him(imagine that) and all of the debates where in blue cities with mostly liberal patrons. I wanted to see him go to a red state in the heartland. I mean, if your ideas are genius, if the logic is there, that shouldn’t be a problem, should it?
I did see a positive in this, though. The liberals are getting desperate. They see the people stepping up, voicing their concerns, undeterred by accusations of racism or stupidity. Socialists are throwing the racial barbs hard and heavy(Did you notice Maher’s “Cracker Nation” remark?). They are scared, whether they admit it or not. Even if reform passes and we don’t agree with it, something is changing. The desperation is to change the country and pass everything before the 2010 election.
I’m surprised that Bill Maher wasn’t portrayed in Men in Black as one of those visiting space aliens. That wacko is *definitely* from another planet!
He sure fits the bill. Pun intended.

Here’s the thing (as Mr. Monk would say):
Bill Maher is a pretty good comedian. However, he, and many of his fellow-travelers, think that qualifies him as a genius. Keith Olbermann, I am told, was a pretty good sportscaster (I wouldn’t know; never paid much attention to that stuff). I suppose he thought that meant he was smart. My guess is that these folks actually don’t know any smart people, so they really wouldn’t know how to recognize one.
Jackie Mason, on the other hand, is way funnier than any of these folks, and way smarter, too. Plus, he doesn’t try to mix his comedy and his politics. It works for him, too.
I guess having your own show and being surrounded by sycophants distorts one’s estimate of one’s wit.
Maher just said “Make every kid watch this or lose your Federal funding.”
Gee — considering the New York City and Los Angeles unified school districts were NOT YET BACK IN SESSION, I wonder if it would have been seen by those who needed the lesson most?
Maher is a true low life, a bottom feeder. His humor is pitiful. The man (I use that word grudgingly) is without merit in my opinion.
It’s very sad, watching Maher today (I don’t, as a rule). He once showed a bit of a libertarian stripe when he first started out on TV many years ago. Now he is reduced to a mere caricature of his former self.
It’s really sad that he as well has stooped to playing the race card at the expense of a cheap laugh (note the cracker remark). If he thinks that Jone’s resigned due to calling the R’s A-holes, he obviously doesn’t know a thing about Jones or his background.
BTW, forcing any school district to show the great O’s school-kiddie speech would be a direct violation of several areas of our Constitution, to say nothing of the Dept of Ed charter.
