I’ll say one thing for the Obama Administration: their personnel vetting process is for shit. After several potential candidates for positions had to take a pass after questionable activities stained their pasts and proved embarrassing, you’d think the White House would do thorough background investigations using all the resources of the office.

President Barack Obama’s adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.
“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me,” Jones said in his resignation statement. “They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.”
Like calling the opposition “assholes” brought anyone together, and his own words in videos are distortions. Gimme a break.
Jones said he has been “inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight.” But he said he cannot in good conscience ask his colleagues to spend time and energy defending or explaining his past.
“… across the political spectrum….” Bullshit.
It’s rare that a liberal admits wrongdoing, let alone resigns, so there had to be some really bad stuff to come. The left will be real pissed off about this, but Jones’ own big mouth in front of that same left was his own undoing.
Good riddens to bad rubbish.
Obama really knows how to pick winners doesnt he? How many people has this been that have resigned or droped out due to controversy?
A few (a lot? All, perhaps?) of his other “czars” are just as tacky, wacky, psychotic, and dangerous as this Jones asshole, just in different areas. They need to be publicly vetted with the same vigor and enthusiasm (read: Glenn Beck) that exposed this Enemy of the State…
I was wondering how the MSM will handle this, Val gave it to them. “They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.” Thus the non-reporting of the MSM can save exposure of their lack of coverage, and the kool-aid drinks will go unaware.
The scary thing about all of this was the silence from ABC,NBC,WP,CNN, & NYT. Silence. If that doesn’t expose these worthless organization, nothing will. How long are these guys going to keep doing it? This was news, whether you like or dislike Mr. Jones. If you have your show ala Letterman, Oprah, The View, Jimmy Kimmel,etc., you can slant anyway you want, it is your show. But when you represent yourself as a news organization, this kind of behavior is a disgrace.
The real slamdunk on Van Jones’s downfall is all you had to do was read and watch what he said. His own words. No need for any spin. This is how you go after liberals, just get their words out there and let the public judge.

I’m glad that the NAACP showed their true colors before he resigned and I’m happy that the blogs and Fox outed this piece of sh1t and forced him out.
There have been calls on blogs that say that Obama should resign because of not only this, but his other crimes against our Republic.
But many of us don’t want him to resign, we want him to be Impeached. We want the impeachment and investigation to bring out, for all to see, all of Obama’s treasonous destructive actions and intents against our Republic.
We also want it to bring out into daylight all of the human cockroaches that have backed him and that he brought into his administration. Out in the daylight where we can stomp them all into oblivion. Then we want to go after his backers and handlers- both foreign and domestic.
Then we will proceed to disinfect the Justice Dept and all other departments that have been soiled by his legions of Marxist, Communist appointees and czars.
Then by our votes we will proceed to cleanse Congress of those that would not represent the American People.
Then maybe we can hold free and untainted elections to bring Citizen Americans back to DC to restore a government back to what our Founders and ancestors intended and died for.

Get ready. I am reading all of the sites and it looks like the left is already looking for payback. Get out the movie theater popcorn and enjoy, this is going to get good. Olberman is telling Daily Kos readers to send him anything on Glen Beck. Good luck since all of the dirt about him is already out there. Besides entertainers aren’t going to be held to the same standards as a President’s czar!!! I am glad to see we are throwing some punches now. If they are going to enact an agenda, we will make it hard at every turn and they will have to earn it.

I disagree Bob, It’s not that Obama’s screening process isn’t thorough, it’s just that its standards are such that a man like Jones can pass with flying colors.
Now, if he had ever been photographed wearing a US Flag lapel pin… he never would have made it.
