Don’t Mess With Texas (Parents)

This is not supposed to be happening.

Barack says we can!Last summer and fall we were all told just how much we loved, admired, and needed a President Barack Obama, but I guess there is that fine line between love and hate. Imposing a narcissistic president on school children seems to be where that line’s been crossed.

A groundswell of parent opposition to President Barack Obama’s speech next week to students on the importance of education has forced many North Texas school districts to question whether to air it live in classrooms.

By midday, local school districts say, they were inundated with hundreds of phone calls from parents urging them to not show Obama’s speech at school. Some parents threatened to keep their children home from school if the video was aired.

From now on, if the president wants to address the children during class time, he may want to consider what every other person seeking access has to do: send home a note and alert parents in advance. A public announcement his will be done may cut it within the walls of government where Obama’s the top of the chain, but on the street, he’s someone whose welcome has worn thin and “leave my kids alone” has become the new “yes, we can.”

Glad to see so many parents are up in arms about this and glad to see some schools are thinking about NOT complying with forcing the kids to view Obama’s speech.

Well, if BS and his minions are unsuccessful, there is always the UN.

United Nations children’s treaty jeopardizes parental rights and homeschooling

Convention on the Rights of the Child

Read and decide for yourself. Is the state imposing its will on parents? What is the track record of state intervention? What historical precedents can we use to divine their motives and intentions?

Where are all our friends, those stalwart watchdogs of the MainStream Media in all this? Aren’t they supposed to be informing us of corruption and other nasty government efforts to work against our best interests? I suppose they must believe that this top-down government meddling with our youngest students is just what the doctor ordered.

    Now, if a Republican did this . . .

I have a problem with live airing of this. It’s like the health care issue and the cap n trade bill. If these things are so good for us, let us be the judge. Can I see it in advance please? I don’t trust this guy to not try and “turn” the children.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t at least one teacher get in trouble with parents/her school for displaying a photo of President Bush in her classroom several years ago? If I remember correctly, their argument was that the presence of the photo did not allow her to be neutral. And in that case, she wasn’t necessarily teaching conservative values… she was just showing a picture of the current president (who just happened to be conservative). I absolutely would not be complain if classrooms had photos of Obama in them (heck, I’d probably put one up if I could find a teaching job… I mean he IS the President, whether I like it or not), but they’re not just taping a picture up. They’re taking HIS liberal policies, HIS liberal values, and using them to brainwash our kids… exactly what they screamed about when Bush was president.

I guess I should be used to this by now, but it never ceases to amaze me that these people are able to get away with crap like this.

It is absolutely amazing to me that during the campaign and his first weeks in office that we were in the worst economic crisis scince the great depression, and now all I have seen him try to do is ram health care and cap and tax down our throats now he wants to speak to our kids? What about this big economic crisis? Shouldn’t he be going 24/7 to make sure we come out of this well? Either he lied about the economy(the way bushed lied about the war?)or he is sleeping at the wheel. He hasn’t filled all the posts in the treasury yet,but has 40 czars. We ain’t in kansas anymore toto, try moscow.
