Naomi Campbell’s Cracked Mirror

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is accusing the fashion industry of racism for downsizing the black female ranks during the recession.  Granted, but Naomi Campbell is the last person to be screaming racism and should take a long, hard look in the mirror on what kind of representative figure she’s been.

Naomi Campbell

Never afraid of speaking her mind, Naomi Campbell has accused the advertising business of using the recession as an excuse to drop black models. The 39-year-old supermodel, who is a close friend of Sarah Brown, the Prime Minister’s wife, claims that major companies are refusing to use non-white women to promote their products.

Could it be that some black models (I won’t mention any names) assault and cause disturbances to the point they’ve made it bad for everyone? Nah, certain models would never admit that.

What goes around, comes around, Naomi.

Some call it Karma, others call it “Just desserts”

Suffer, sweetie. You voted for HopenChange, didn’t you? How’s that working out?

    Wow.

I’ve always been of the opinion that advertising to a large degree is reflective of the audience in which a manufacturer or service provider targets. If it’s a print or television advertisement, typically the representative subjects will resemble those whom the before mentioned manufacturer or sevice provider wishes to attract. Sugary breakfast cereal commercials show kids, beer commercials show horny slobbish guys, and commercials for minivans show families with kids.

Being a well travelled black man, I personally don’t see masses of black women in couture clothing. In fact, with the average American black woman being a size 16-18, I doubt Naomi or any other super skinny in-shape black model is reflective of the actual market other than skin color. Coupled with the current crappy Obama economy, even those black women who would like to wear high end clothing and have the body to look good in it are unable to afford it; thus, the reduction in targeted advertising to the entire group and the reduced need for hiring those who are representative of it.

    Racist…no, Realistic…yes.

I am of asian descent and I am sick to death of cries of racism in America. Geez, would people who cry racism please just give it a rest??? I am married to a white guy, and his family is definitely NOT racist at all. My own asian parents are racist as hell. There are some in every group. We have to live with the fact that life on earth is not a utopia.

Some black people do the same crap that they accuse some white people of doing. One of our company’s subcontractors is a white guy from South Africa. He tells me all the time, “Hey, I AM the “african-american” here! I am TRULY from Africa. Blacks in America or anywhere else are just of the black race, they’re NOT Africans!!!” He says whites in S. A. suffer the persecution and discrimination from blacks there everyday. He and his family finally were allowed to emigrate to the U.S. after many years of trying, and they do not plan to go back to S.A. ever.

There is racism everywhere in the world. But in America there are laws to protect us, and that makes America the best in the world. The most angry people already have the law on their side and they’re STILL angry! Go figure.

Hey, Campbell. If you’re looking for a model to follow in your waning days, look no further than Latasha Jackson. Now this is how “redistributive change” is supposed to work.

    Private fortune, public cash

“Jackson has received nearly $3 million in taxpayer-financed child-care funding since she got in the day care business in 1999″

I swear, there is a new sucker… I mean taxpayer born every day, or so hopes Jackson. In any case, Campbell, follow the public money for a recession-proof heyday. Then again, maybe it’s time to remove your skin-colored glasses, and start thinking human.

Igor, Naomi’s a Brit. She couldn’t vote for The Won.

    Um, “Antiracisistic Nervosa”?
