“Hate Crime” Depends On The Victims
If “hate crimes” were declared on a more even basis, maybe the term (and its meaning) would be taken more seriously. But we live in a politically correct society that dictates that whites are always oppressors and minorities are always victims.
Someone should explain that to Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian…
On Saturday January 6, 2007 Hugh Christopher Newsom, age 23 and Channon Gail Christian, age 21, both students at the University of Tennessee went out on a date.
They were driving in Channon’s Toyota 4-Runner when they were carjacked at gunpoint. Suddenly the crime turned far more savage than an armed car theft. Chris and Channon were kidnapped and driven to 2316 Chipman Street where they were forced into the home at gunpoint.
The details have been withheld by the media. Wouldn’t want to inflame racial tensions….
While Channon was forced to watch, her boyfriend was raped prison style. He was later driven to nearby railroad tracks where he was shot and set afire. But Channon’s hell was just beginning.
She was beaten; gang raped repeatedly in many ways and bleach poured down her throat to destroy DNA evidence-all while she was still alive.
While some of the accounts of the murders won’t be confirmed until the evidence is revealed during the trial, there is enough to show that the brutality went beyond your normal carjacking.
If there was ever a definition of a hate crime, this is it.
If this had happened to black people, there would be marches in the streets of Knoxville (led by the usual suspects) the day after the crime scene was discovered. These torture murders happened in January of 2007 and we’re only now receiving word on this because the trial is now underway.
We all know what political correctness has done to stifle the national dialogue, and their media has performed beautifully in concert. But with few exceptions, there is a certain aspect of hate involved in the performance of any violent crime.
To give more weight to one murder over another based solely on skin color can only have the effect of further polarizing our nation along racial lines, which I believe the left wants for political reasons.
However many victims lay dead in the road or in pieces in a dumpster is just a part of that “ends justify the means”.

Lastly, it’s the job of the media to REPORT THE NEWS. It’s not up to them to decide what’s racially incendiary, thus not appropriate for broadcast. It’s not up to them to decide what may or may not cause unrest. It’s not up to them to decide what may cause tension in a community.
By laying low on this story for over two-and-a-half years, they have created only more suspicion and tension. By sanitizing the details, they will only create more outrage when revealed.
Only the political correct left could take a tragedy and make it more so.

Michael savage reported on this years ago. And he said the same thing, this wasn’t declared a hate crime cause the victims were white and the perps were all black. I was outraged before CNN even knew this story existed.
Shame on the people who suppressed this story because of the various races of the people involved.
This next statement may sound racist, and I would have no part it in, but……….black people really are setting themselves up for oppression once again, sooner or later white people are going to snap cause of all the BS they have to put up with and possibly take matters into their own hands cause they wont put up with it anymore and the roles are going to be reversed once again. And blacks will be oppressed and treated less than human once again, all because some black people couldn’t let go of the past and because of people who fan the flames and profit off it. Im lookin at you al sharpton and jessie jackson. People like them will have to answer for their crimes in the hereafter.

girzwald I hope your statement does not come to fruition as far as your prediction of oppression – there are too many people on all sides of the fence that are fed up with the hate, ugliness and total disregard for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in this country – I think/hope what you will eventually see and may be starting to see in small increments today is a coming together of people – GOOD people both black and white, red, purple, gay, straight, whatever who want a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
This news should have been broadcast loud and clear when it happened. It is an outrage and obviously there are some very sick individuals that need to visit a gas chamber pdq …
Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and the like have shit on anyone who has thought to follow their word or believe they have something worthwhile to share with society. They are users and I agree a big part of the perpetual problem in this country, along with our now POTUS – he least of all should be playing any race cards, but he does daily – and it is sad – there could be a great lesson, but instead we have hate and ugliness spewing from the capital – taking names and spewing hate at all levels of government.
Take a look at the playgrounds of America, those kids all have fun no matter what their color – the sad part is society has a hand in some turning the wrong way, but more importantly is the breakdown of American values, pride and FAMILY VALUES RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY that have changed things so drastically.
Hell, look at the damn presidential election, I personally know of at least 3 people who have never voted in their life, who are in their 40’s who voted for the first time not because of political beliefs, but because of the color of a man’s skin – that is so sad. I asked them, which physician would you want to care for your sick child, the one with the skin color you prefer or the one who aced his med school classes? They had no answer – hope and change, yeah they’re loving life now – NOT.
The sleeping giant is waking, and more and more the moral outrage will grow, people who want to live life in the pursuit of the American dream will be coming together – of all colors, race, religions, etc. to put this country back together – as for your comment about al sharpton, jessie jackson having to answer for their crimes in the hereafter, I do hope they will answer to them in the here and now too.

RE: Girzwald I doubt it will be a slavery thing. It will be more of a “final solution” thing. If the race war continues to be instigated by the left, the liberals and pretty much all the blacks will be lumped together for retribution. The left in this country has so far been VERY sucessful at portraying all blacks as liberal race-obsessed democrats, and when the backlash happens that will be how most of the country sees them.
Much as I hate to think it, and much as I love and respect some of the blacks I know, I will be hard pressed to pick a side when/if 1968/69 replays itself all over again. The whites of that era were pretty much hamstrung by true guilt pangs for the way they had treated blacks, the whites of my generation are fully fed up with being shit on for being white. I have no white guilt. I am ready to even some scores though. If liberals of all stripes, whether black or white want to hate me and attempt my or my childrens destruction solely because of my sex and the color of my skin, I will die fighting.

carolinagirl. I sincerely hope that it doesn’t come to pass, but just from my perspective, the framework for it to possibly happen is in motion. Do I really think it will happen? No. Would I be shocked if it did? No.
Just like how outrage is growing at townhalls. Outrage is growing with things like this. White on black, hate crime. An illiterate deaf mute who doesn’t know sign language could beat up a black person and it would be called a hate crime immediately. But a group of, was it 50 or 15, black people can scream “This is a black world” and they “aren’t ready to call it a hate crime”.
Race baiters have cried wolf far too many times. Anyone who isn’t a flaming liberal has already long since ignored any cries of racism and is sick of the double standards.
Besides, hate crime laws are unconstitutional. Someones motives should only sometimes invoke mercy (stealing bread to feed starving family), and never harsher punishments.

You are right about the kids playing together. That was me and my friends when I was younger.
Did we know that our skin colors were different? Yes, but no different then knowing our eye color was different. Who cared?! We were friends and we appreciated each other for who we were and just had fun.
Once the adults, the media, and the indoctrination system (aka education) kicks in, that’s when we are taught that whites ought to be ashamed and guilty for being white and blacks are taught that whites are holding them down and keeping them from succeeding, that they are out to get them, etc.
If they didn’t teach and constantly reinforce that opinion, I think we would be past all that by now.
Would there still be racism, etc? Yes. Historically throughout the world (and I’m not just talking about the American version of racism) there has always been such things. It will always exist, but not in the pervasive divide that is perpetuated by this society and the political system that benefits from such division.
As far as the crime goes, it’s just heinous. No innocent people should have to suffer something like that. No one.

Am i the only one that got pissed that they lumped all these white supremacists as right wing extremists? They are quick to label anyone who is appalled at this as right wing extremists. And why the hell are they focusing on only white supremacists. I’m sure there are an equal number of us regular people on the right that could have been cited.

@Crowhorse – Your last paragraph is the foundation of why “hate crimes” is a flawed concept. Is it crime or not, pretty basic. Though there is no doubt that one crime may be, in this case certainly is, more heinous than another. But from a legal standpoint, it is a crime. The punishment meted out has to do with the degree and mitigating circumstances, but conviction should be yes or no.
As someone in the heart of the 60s battleground for civil rights, I am always acutely aware of the issue of race. Of course, that issue is ONLY black/white. There were co-workers of mine that I just didn’t speak to regarding the election last year because of the race issue, i.e. they were going to vote for Obama simply because he was seen as black. No amount of logic or discussion could pierce that blindness. Even a pastor friend, a long time staunch Republican, pro-life pastor, who happens also to be black, said he was going to vote Obama. When asked about the issues with abortion, and ideology, his reason left him, because of race.
I agree that there is likely to be a strong reaction. However, I doubt that it will look anything like what we have seen before. There are too many black people who are speaking up about this, like Bob. People who see Jackson and Sharpton for what they are and heartily dislike it (and them). The concern I have, though, is that with the unemployment as it is and many people, regardless of race in a desperate situation, that an Obamabot will instigate something that will be used as an excuse, a la Rahm, to clamp down even further and more viciously on our freedoms, even to attempt to take them away.
It will be then when real patriots are known, when men will stand for what is right, while the others fall about them.

Ya know, “make love, not war” or in this case, violence, death, and suffering, etc. Hard to say if it was a racial hate crime from the standpoint of the accused, only they know it in their minds if it was or not. “Hate Crime” is an oxymoron, much like progressive liberal, journalistic integrity, or political leader. The regressives will never allow us to live together. They are the only ones that profit from perpetuating resentment and fear. Not even a white/black/whatever President has calmed their insanity.
They create prejudice through their language and actions. The variety of prejudice they promote, is of nurture, not nature kind. They ensure that each succeeding generation will be infected with their psychosis.
The division they perpetuate, will hurt all of us!

This is a hideous crime on any level, just some sick f***s, regardless of the races involved. If it had been done by whites, would it make an difference?Hate crime legislation is just a tool to beat a certain group over the head, period. Forget its so-called intentions to protect “certain” groups. What does that mean? If I kill someone gay, black, latino, etc., I’m going to walk unless there is a hate crime bill in place? If I get 50 yrs, will the Hate crimes bill kick me to a Death sentence? The courts are backed up now as it is, are we going to examine the prejudices of everyone who commits a murder? Geez, if I blow someone away, the only thing you need to figure out is if it was intentional or accidental(murder vs. manslaughter) Do they really want to say that if anyone kills someone white, no matter what, there was no hate involved? Holder has balls like church bells to make that statement with a straight face. That’s either hate or delusion. But Holder is just the front man for the liberal mindset. You have heard of there being wars within the black community regarding direction and interblack bias(light skin vs. dark skin,etc.) But there is an even bigger war right now going on in the white population. I knew about this a long time ago. What’s also interesting is that almost at the exact same time this story was circulating, there was also a case unfolding regarding the opposite situation. A black woman was tied up and tortured by a group of white supremacists. Funny thing is, that received about as much media coverage as this case, which was next to null. I came to the conclusion at the time that the media had simply lost its ability to actually do its job, before it hit me that that’s the way it’s already been for years.

Officials see rise in militia groups across U.S
WASHINGTON – Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends.
The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.
Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he’s seen in more than a decade.
“All it’s lacking is a spark,” McEntire said in the report.
It’s reminiscent of what was seen in the 1990s — right-wing militias, people ideologically against paying taxes and so-called “sovereign citizens” are popping up in large numbers, according to the report to be released Wednesday. The SPLC is a nonprofit civil rights group that, among other activities, investigates hate groups.
Last October, someone from the Ohio Militia posted a recruiting video on YouTube, billed as a “wake-up call” for America. It’s been viewed more than 60,000 times.
“Things are bad, things are real bad, and it’s going to be a lot worse,” said the man on the video, who did not give his name. “Our country is in peril.”
The man is holding an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, and he encourages viewers to buy one.
While anti-government sentiment has been on the rise over the last two years, there aren’t as many threats and violent acts at this point as there were in the 1990s, according to the report. That movement bore the likes of Timothy McVeigh, who in 1995 blew up a federal building in Oklahoma City and killed 168 people.
But McEntire fears it’s only a matter of time.
These militias are concentrated in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest and the Deep South, according to Mark Potok, an SPLC staff director who co-wrote the report. Recruiting videos and other outreach on the Internet are on the rise, he said, and researchers from his center found at least 50 new groups in the last few months.
The militia movement of the 1990s gained traction with growing concerns about gun control, environmental laws and anything perceived as liberal government meddling.
The spark for that movement came in 1992 with an FBI standoff with white separatist Randall Weaver at Ruby Ridge, Idaho. Weaver’s wife and son were killed by an FBI sniper. And in 1993, a 52-day standoff between federal agents and the Branch Davidian cult in Waco, Texas, resulted in nearly 80 deaths. These events rallied more people who became convinced that the government would murder its own citizens to promote its liberal agenda.

This is NOT a white movement. It is a popular movement, represented by people of all ethnicities. Much like the self-organized popular protests against “universal health care”, “cap and trade”, and other consolidation of power (a.k.a. “redistributive change”), agendas.
“Hate Crimes” is a legal tactic employed by regressives to perpetuate division among the people. Their selective responses are telling of their motives, and reveal their true nature and agenda.

By the way, how is the increase in militia and rejection of Public Healthcare in 2009 any different than militias and rejection of Hillarycare in the 90’s? Only the SPLC would bring out a possible racial link. After all, they got to stir up the liberal contributors now that Madoff put a dent in their coffers.

Historically, white supremacy groups have been liberal to the bone. The first white supremacy group, the KKK, was formed by white Democrats for the sole purpose of terrorizing black Republicans. And contrary to popular belief, Jim Crow laws and the denial of voting rights weren’t about disenfranchising all blacks, just black Republicans who would have voted Democrats out of office.
Since the 60’s, the Democrat party has tried everything under the sun to make the world forget that they were the party of slavery, racism, Jim Crow, dogs, water hoses, lynching, and segregation.
Conveniently, they had Republicans with no balls to fight back against the claims to pin it on, and still do so to this day. Every wacky ass law the Dims pass in supposed solidarity with the minority community to show that they really care only exacerbates the rift between us. Hate crimes are the uber example of that.
I’ve always wondered being a black conservative if I would get charged with a hate crime for slapping the shit out of a black liberal…or any liberal for that matter?
