Okay, the actual “war” isn’t over but we won’t hurt the feelings of our opponents by using descriptions they’ll find offensive. We may want to kill them, but humiliation is now off the table.
It’s official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism.” Neither is it fighting “jihadists” or in a “global war.”
“The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,’” said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a “new way of seeing” the fight against terrorism.
The only terminology that Mr. Brennan said the administration is using is that the U.S. is “at war with al Qaeda.”
Thanks for the tip, John.
At some point al Qaeda is expected to remove their use of the term “infidel” when referring to anyone not Muslim, as we all know their aim is to turn the world into an Islamic state, but not hurt our feelings in the process.

PB, maybe he borrowed some from Pelosi, as she looks like she has tons of the stuff.
Rayj – yup we been Mani-rolled.
Thanks, Bob.
BTW, just how much botox as Barry been into lately? EWW
We always knew that the newspeak of 1984 would not be forced on us in a single stroke. Now we just need to educate the next generation about this.
Woohoo! Happy Days are here again!
Wait, there are still radical Islamists who want to KILL every living American out there plotting evil ways to achieve this end.
A rose by any other name, and all that happy horse s….
If the war on terror is over…
Who won?
Bob, did I just get Rickrolled Barry Manilow style?
So, is this an implicit grant of amnesty to all the other terrorists?
“jihad” — That is their term. A “jihadist” is an individual who participates in a “jihad.” I suppose, much like the regressives, they are offended by their own concepts.
“global war” — That is their playground. They have lost empires, how dare the infidels resist their “hope and change” for what was once.
I wonder if BS has conferred with China, India, etc. on this matter.

“The War On Terror Is OVER!”
It truly is.
Obama: ‘Victory’ Not Necessarily Goal in Afghanistan
“I’m always worried about using the word ‘victory,’ because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur” — BS
Hirohito did not sign the “order of surrender,” much to BS’s dismay.
It’s time to recall the troops. The CiC cannot lead.
