Bomb Of The Day
It’s tough to watch anyone go onstage and not perform well. It’s tough to watch anyone go onstage with an audience that’s less than enthusiastic. It’s even worse when it’s both.
Janeane Garofalo cut short her Saturday afternoon set in Latitude’s comedy tent because of the poor reception she was given by the audience. The American comedienne’s rare UK live appearance was expected to be one of the highlights in a strong comic line-up, but she failed to win over the festival crowd.
Garofalo was due perform for half an hour, but left the stage after less than ten minutes when her routine about post-9/11 security checks at airports met with stony silence.
Must be their limbic brains.

The Brits have been dealing with terrorism for many, many years before 9/11 (anyone remember the IRA?) and she should have realized that before going on stage. Problem is her looney lefty mind thinks all of it was because of GWB.

There will be a story published soon in which she will explain how the entire thing was the fault of that dumb brit audience, dontcha know…

Couldn’t happen to a better person.

She actually said that the media in the U.S. is to the right. WHAT? I think that somewhere in the U.S., a college town coffeehouse is missing a night manager.

I wonder why it took her TEN minutes to figure out she was bombing out–was she waiting for the Homer Simpson “I am so smart…S-M-R-T…I mean, S-M-A-R-T…D’OH!” to come from the audience?

Garofalo is a LOSER!
Funny that she didn’t blame her FAILURE on the vast right wing conspiracy!!

This is definitely a ha-ha moment.
If Garofalo would read the news and inform herself of world events, she would have realized that the British are no longer in denial of the threats they face and their sources.
“limbic brains”
Yeah, she didn’t expect to arouse fear and anger.

First off ….. Garofalo is an ignoramus of the first magnitude. Who ever told her or what on Gods earth made her think she was intelligent? Because she was cast as a wise ass or a college type hipster in a couple of movies?
She would know nothing of what the Brits find humorus.
Second … the proof is in her choice of material.
BTW – British air travelers face MUCH more intense scrutiny than American domestic travelers.
Garofalo may be able to tell a joke or two about that after she flies home.

Are the Brits trying to get back in my good graces or something?

The only good thing Garafolo ever did was Mystery Men. But anyone could have done that role.

“It’s not you, I blame myself for this,” she said before leaving the stage…
True that.
