Quote Of The Day
And now, some stirring words of wisdom from environmental expert Barbra Streisand…
I was very frightened after the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, and I was committed to gaining a deeper understanding about environmental issues. At the time, global warming wasn’t on the country’s agenda. Outside of the work of some scientists and academics, global warming was a theory, not a mainstream issue.
I understand congressional leaders had to make major compromises to this legislation in order for it to pass in the House of Representatives. I just hope one day soon the country will wake up and fully realize that we need to step up in a major way in order to avoid catastrophic demographic dislocation in the years ahead. But like I said, the Waxman-Markey bill was a very important and historic first step in our journey to hopefully bring us back from the tipping point of disaster.
But like most eco libs, she’s a hypocrite.
Babs, why do you air-condition your 12,000-square-foot barn, use 120 bath-sized towels per performance, and water your lawn to the tune of $20,000 a year? Doesn’t environmental charity begin at home?
Babs…?

She hasn’t a clue and probably wouldn’t see the disconnect between the way she lives and the way she’d need to live in order to make a difference.
In an interview after she married, she explained that her husband had taken her to a drive-thru at a fast food restaurant, which she hadn’t done before. She kept saying that he knew all about everyday things she’d never experienced before. It was kind of endearing and seemed to show that she was learning how sheltered she was.
But I guess she was just slumming.

formerly known as “global warming was a theory”
formally known as AGW or, presently, AGCC
It was, and continues to be, a hypothesis. Considering that their hypothesis continues to be discredited through physical evidence, they would do well to reformulate. At some point, they will have to admit that their opinion is now simply speculation with a political agenda.
“avoid catastrophic demographic dislocation”
What a hypocrite. She has taken the bait… hook, line, and sinker. Her concern for her Malibu home is touching — not! Note to Babs: Gore’s prediction of rising oceans is only a doomsday scenario to prop the dismal hypothesis he advocates. Wake up and smell the money.

Just to let you know how off these enviro-nuts are, I was in Germany when Chernobyl melted down. Because of the amount of time we had to spend outside, they told us to expect cancer in 7-10 years. That was over 20 years ago and so far, clean bill of health. I have been to Ukraine within the past 5 years and life in northcentral Ukraine is as normal as it is here. Yes, there is an area immediately around the that is still uninhabitable, but they admit it is not as bad as they had expected.
Now this dingbat wants to use bad information to rant about her science fiction fears. Priceless.

Like most of the Hollywood buffoons the only catastrophic demographic dislocation is between her ears.

I think the most frightening thing about global warming to these people is the theory of the oceans rising 50+ feet and drowning the coasts making their beachfront property worthless, and having to move inland with the unwashed masses.
