Freepers Racially Slur Obama Daughter
Bill O’Reilly has called Free Republic a hate site and he may now have some ammunition to back up that assertion.
“A typical street whore.”
“A bunch of ghetto thugs.”
“Ghetto street trash.”
“Wonder when she will get her first abortion.”These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative ‘Free Republic’ blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.
The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, “To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds.”
At a time when the administration is seeking any reason to squelch any speech it deems “hate”, as well as the entities where that speech may be found, what the hell were some of these people thinking?
It should be very clear at this point what the rules (fair or not) are: Chelsea Clinton, out of bounds; the Bush twins and Sarah Palin’s daughter, fair game; the Obama girls, off limits. How hard is that to understand, but even with the rules being spelled out, boneheads decided to give the left the very quotes that may one day be used in hearings against us.
I’ve posted (and had) some of my columns posted on Free Republic. For the most part, it’s been a worthwhile experience to get some feedback from my conservative brethren, but on occasions, some of those commenting have gone off half cocked. To their credit, other posters have come to my defense as some of my columns sometime require a full read to get the point.
Granted, the Vancouver Sun writer is an intolerant liberal himself, but he’s never going to admit wrongdoing and the liberal media will never demand it of him.
Chris Parry, it appears, has advocated on his Daily Kos blog any number of egregious offenses, among them: posting hate speech on sites like Free Republic and blaming it on conservatives. Parry posted under the name “hollywoodoz” on Daily Kos, where his signature was “Fool me once, I’ll punch you in the fucking head.” Parry outed himself as hollywoodoz here, where he discloses the company he helped start. In essence: Parry, the journalist, found his story right where he’d been circling it for a very long time, and reported it as news. Sigh.
The media is sure to seize on this Monday, as bonafide liberal hate sites are doing so now and using this as an opportunity to deflect from the years of race-smearing black conservatives and now coming off as finger-pointing, holier-than-thou wannabe tolerance guardians.
Just give them the bullets to shoot us with.

I have been a member of Free Republic for several years. I did not see the original thread. But here is what I printed in a thread regarding the controversy.
Please keep in mind the you whom I am addressing is not Mr. Parks but Chris Parry of the Vancouver Sun.
“I don’t suppose you have any interest in all the members here who made it very clear that Obama’s children should be off limits and are not responsible for their dad’s policies.
Also do you bother asking how long it usually takes a thread or offensive comment to be pulled? Or did you check to see how many here do not tolerate racist comments and bring them to the attention of the moderators?
The moderators have a herculean task to go through all the posts to check for offensive content. But they do a very good job at it, even if it does not always happen instantly.
And you may not be aware of it but the mods do send private messages to those who post offensive crap and give them a warning that continued violation of Free Republic policy will result in being banned. So you don’t have any idea if those who posted the crap were just ignored. You like to give the impression they are tolerated and even encouraged by the Moderators and Administration of this site, but that is not true.
I don’t believe there is every any excuse for racist attacks or attacks against children and if I ever thought this was business as usual on Free Republic I would say so and leave the site without hesitation. But I assure you such things are an anomoly and in no way reflect the values of the majority of conservatives.”

Actually, Free Republic got invaded by people who are not real FReepers, and many of those are where the slurs came from. The author of the Vancouver Sun Piece is a Daily Kos Poster, who writes racial slurs and advocates blaming them on republicans. He also posts up some of the worst slime on the internet about Sarah Palin and her daughters. The entire thing is a smear job set up by Chris Parry, the author of the piece, a foul mouthed Democrat liberal living in CANADA, who posts as HollywoodOz Please see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2290929/posts Chris Parry appeared at the thread and admitted it. Its astounding. FReepers are not haters, but they get smeared that way because they themselves are hated for being conservative. FRee Republic is not about hate, its about fighting Liberal lies, and more often than not they win. Thats why they are hated. More power to FR!

Bob, I’m a bit surprised that you fell for this one. It’s been pretty well documented on FR since last night what’s going on here. Those “slurs” were planted by Chris Parry (Hollywoodz) of the Toronto Sun (and of Daily Kos) for this very purpose.
If you spend any time at all on FR you will note how quickly any posts that cross the line are removed. FR can’t remove bad posts before they’re posted, but in this case the offending posts were removed very quickly.
This little game has been planned, and we’re going to see a piece on MSNBC tomorrow about it… as planned by this lovely kid from Daily Kos.

disgusting..to say the least. I wish an all out effort would take place to kick out any racists on our side and tell them to get the hell out of OUR party. unfortunately the older daughter may be indoctrinated earl with that whole piece sign shirt crap, and that sucks. Mocking all things regressive — commendable! I still don’t understand why regressives are offended when their policies are highlighted. They should be ecstatic when others acknowledge their “progressive” agendas. By the way, the Obamas have proven their regressive (aka “liberal”, aka “progressive”) status. I just can’t believe how many whites, Jews, blacks, etc., are complicit.
The regressives must no longer feel satisfied attacking Palin and her family, so they have expanded their attacks. They either feel threatened or emboldened by the continued conspiracy of the MSM., and the possible upcoming confirmation of the egotistical, racist, delusional Sotomayor. Apparently, Ginsburg was/is not sufficiently racist/prejudiced for their needs — they can, and will do better.
They’re also fervently attempting to assassinate Ricci’s character in order to recover the shredded remains of Sotomayor’s credibility.
Oh, and after several months, they have contrived a cover story to pursue their attack on the CIA, and Cheney in particular. So desperate in general, or so desperate to recover the shredded remains of Pelosi’s credibility?

If this really was Free Republic, thanks for pushing us backward and special thanks for bringing the kids into it.
If if is Daily Kos sneak attacks, that should be exposed. I try never to sink to that level, ever. There are enough idiot conservatives to do that. But if these attacks are not consistent and “out of the blue”, I would have to wonder about them. When you go on Daily Kos or Huffington Post, this stuff is par for the course. There is a certain consistency about it. People who throw out these kind of slurs tend to be do it on a regular basis, regardless of political affiliation.
I read the crap they said about Condi Rice and hope we don’t swim in that pond. There is enough media against us and hope anyone on that level gets exposed.

Since I am retired, I check out many Liberal Blogs. These trashy tactics are common place & they think nothing of trashing Children & Religious Groups. I have found you can’t offend a liberal, as that is their tactics. They see nothing wrong with trashing people’s character unless it happens to be theirs. They bashed Bush from day one. They also bashed Laura Bush which is totally vial as I have been told by reputable sources she is the most gracious, friendly & kindest First Lady ever, to have served in the White House. The Bush twins were scrutinized & ridiculed for no reason other than contempt for their Father. As far as I am concerned it is not Conservatives or Republicans that are the hate mongers. It is the Liberals & usually young Liberals who haven’t been alive long enough to know anything that are among the most rabid haters in this country. I no longer try to reason with or explain why their position isn’t necessarily correct, because all you get in return is gutter language & very few intelligent rebuttals.

Unfortunately, for liberals and progressives, there are far more “liberals” and “progressives”, which are neither. They have the stage and misrepresent the true guiding principles of those philosophies. You have many pretenders in your midst, far more than are found among Conservatives.
That said, liberal/progressives policies that are discriminatory and exploitative undermine your message. You may have benevolent intentions; but, the regressive agendas belie those claims. You would do well to recognize and promote individual dignity, and leave the regressive notions of “race”, “sexism”, “elitism”, etc., buried in the past, where they should remain.
You need to move past your perpetual guilt and join the rest of us in the 21st century. Where we judge individuals on their words and actions, and nothing more. Where we help others out of altruism, and not as paid “charitable” employees of the government or donors. Where we respect men and women, old and young, black and white, Christian and Muslim, etc., equally.
We want a world which recognizes the value of the individual, that promotes freedom and opportunity for all. We will not accept rule by “elites”, nor the hive mentality they espouse.

I know Melia doesn’t realize that the peace sign is an upside down broken cross which is offensive to Christians. But, it apparently doesn’t matter to her father and mother. And, that should speak volumes to the nation and how they feel and believe. It signals that they are not Christians as they claim to be.

Hopefully some of the freepers that are claiming this was all the work of “liberal plants” see that the original thread, and comments, were screencapped. You can check the posting history of each of the offenders to verify they’re long-term Free Republic posters. Jim Robinson needs to stop encouraging this out and out lie and own his site’s hate.

I’ve been a member of both FreeRepublic.com and another Conservative site called ChronWatch.com/forum for years and I know many members who post on both sites and are genuine members of both forums. Some reject racism and hatred- others embrace it and promote it with hateful, occasionally violent writing. I’ve been seeing in on both websites for years by consistent members of those websites.
Carleysmimi- your story is not true, the peace symbol started as the symbol of nuclear disarmament and never had anything whatsoever to do with a broken cross. Do your homework before you spread such nonsense to feign the faux victimized Christian that has worn everyone’s patience thin.
