Why would no African-Americans and only two Latinos be given promotions? In relation to how many on the force? Does the test have questions on it that discriminate against minorities, or is it simply a matter of whoever passes gets the promotion, regardless of race? If it’s the latter, then obviously the decision by the Supreme Court is not only justified, but should be incontrovertable, especially if we now live in an age of “racial blindness.”

The dissenting opinion mentioned “equality of opportunity” in relation to the case. I say it has nothing to do with equality of oppurtunity and everything to do with the left’s intent to establish equality of outcome, which, by definition, is totalitarianism.

How about this from Ginsburg:

“[The white firefighters] understandably attract this court’s sympathy. But they had no vested right to promotion.”

Well if they had no right to promotion after passing all the requirements then who exactly WOULD have a vested right to promotion? According the the City and the lower Courts it would be ONLY minorities who passed all the requirements. Nope, no discrimination there…

Too bad for Sonia “part of the problem” Sotomayor, this is one battle won for the good people of America. Let’s hope that the adults will continue to keep the “children” in check.

That, or when another celeb dies and all the attention is elsewhere.
