Rush Quote Of The Day
A perspective counter to some we’ve had here.
The media in this Michael Jackson episode is a horrible disgrace. It is so bad that the only guy making sense on any of this is Al Sharpton!
That’s how bad the media coverage is. All of these lies about the autopsy report, all of this misinformation about the doctor shooting him up with Demerol, the guy’s lawyer said he didn’t do it and so forth.
I’m going to tell you something about Michael Jackson. We haven’t talked about this. But he was acquitted of that charge. That kid and the kids’ mother were the worst witnesses. That was an abomination of a case brought against him. That was a vendetta case. I’m not saying he didn’t have some strange peccadilloes with kids but that case didn’t prove it. So if you’re out there saying, “I’m still convinced he’s a child molester,” you’re no different than the media lying about what was in the autopsy report, lying about all the drugs he was supposedly taking, lying about this and that. We don’t know diddly-squat yet. The autopsy details have not been released. All we have is a bunch of media speculation. This guy’s talent was incomparable! We build ‘em up and we tear ‘em down in this culture, and it’s wrong.
Something for us all to think about.

It was always suspicious that a mom would settle out of court with someone who actually did this to their child. There is no way in hell I would. I don’t think someone else would, either. Sounded like pure shakedown to me. MJ’s biggest mistake was settling out of court with this woman. He should have fought tooth and nail to keep his name in the clear.
That fact that he settled out of court leaves that little crack of doubt open. Couple that with his affection for children and you can see how it mushrooms. MJ never had anyone around him to force him to confront reality. Where was his PR guy at? He was exposed to sharks all of these years and had no one around to run interference for him. At least Elvis had the “Memphis Mafia”, a bunch of guys, some of whom he grew up with, to cover his ass. But in the end, Elvis and MJ had the same problem. They both developed dependencies on legal drugs. No one, not even their doctors, would tell them “no”.

that’s another thing I’ve noticed in 25 years – we create them, and we DESTROY them..sometimes only to repeat the process
very very weird in my book..

another thing I want to know…is how in the world Al..FREAKING SHARPTON is suddenly making sense to Rush regarding Michael.
how is that possible that a DEMOCRAT who supposedly marched with Dr. King, as he claims he did (and we know Dr. MLK Jr. was a STAUNCH Republican), start to make sense to..of all conservatives..Rush?

Um, because even a broken clock is right twice a day?

well it seems like Sharpton is a clock with it’s arms ripped off so it’s NEVER right, or so I’ve observed..
sharpton’s intentions may be in the right place or something..but his methods are CRAP

Nicolas, the idea that “we” create and destroy our celebrities is a myth created by leftist academia. “We” don’t create them. Instead, they gain exposure and become successful, and then the media try to destroy them, like they do with successful people in general…

let’s apply the JR theory to hussein:
and then the media try to destroy them, like they do with successful people in general…
there is always an exception to the rule.

The exception is when the media actually DID create that person’s success.
