Monica Conyers Is A Crook
Hmmm. Funny how we haven’t seen this as a news alert….
Monica Conyers has admitted accepting bribes in a sludge deal, but the Detroit councilwoman’s political adviser and onetime chief of staff told the Free Press she received cash and jewelry for brokering other questionable transactions.
The aide, Sam Riddle, said Conyers even helped draft a letter sent by her husband, Congressman John Conyers Jr., D-Mich., to help a man with whom she had financial ties. It is unclear whether John Conyers knew of his wife’s alleged link to the businessman.

Unlike John Ensign and Mark Sanford, Monica Conyers’ party affiliation isn’t prominently displayed in the first sentence of the piece. You really have to dig deep for that irrelevant bit of information. Obviously a journalistic oversight.

And what is the verdict regarding her case? Any criminal charges forthcoming? I’d be surprised. As long as that D (silent) is beside her name, she’ll walk away unscathed.

I’ve never liked Monica. I’ve always held her up there with Kwame Kilpatrick (and his mother too) when it comes to “People That Are Screwing Up Detroit”. Though, Coleman Young got the ball rolling

She’ll receive a slap on the hand (remember Johnson of St. Hope), so long as her husband refuses to investigate ACORN and upholds the regressives’ agenda.
