Krugman: Deniers Are Treasonous

Global WarmingThe New York Times’ Paul Krugman accused all of the congresspersons who voted against the cap-and-trade bill of treason, citing an MIT study that says we’re the sole cause of climate change. At least, so he says it does…

The fact is that the planet is changing faster than even pessimists expected: ice caps are shrinking, arid zones spreading, at a terrifying rate. And according to a number of recent studies, catastrophe — a rise in temperature so large as to be almost unthinkable — can no longer be considered a mere possibility. It is, instead, the most likely outcome if we continue along our present course.

Thus researchers at M.I.T., who were previously predicting a temperature rise of a little more than 4 degrees by the end of this century, are now predicting a rise of more than 9 degrees. Why? Global greenhouse gas emissions are rising faster than expected; some mitigating factors, like absorption of carbon dioxide by the oceans, are turning out to be weaker than hoped; and there’s growing evidence that climate change is self-reinforcing — that, for example, rising temperatures will cause some arctic tundra to defrost, releasing even more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The problem is that’s not what the MIT researchers said, which makes Paul Krugman either an illiterate who can’t read, or an opportunistic (yet ignorant) liar.

Paul KrugmanBecause that same MIT study isn’t as conclusive as Mr. Krugman portrays it…

A team of MIT scientists recorded a nearly simultaneous world-wide increase in methane levels -the first increase in ten years. What baffles the team is that this data contradicts theories stating humans are the primary source of increase in greenhouse gas. It takes about one full year for gases generated in the highly industrial northern hemisphere to cycle through and reach the southern hemisphere. Since all worldwide levels rose simultaneously throughout the same year, however, it is probable that this may be part of a natural cycle – and not the direct result of man’s contributions.

So, Paul Krugman can act like a whiny child (even though he did get the political result desired) all he wants, but the fact that all are not onboard with his climate hoax is what really scares him.

Narcissists like Krugman are invested with the notion that man is the sole cause of climate, totally blowing off the effects of the sun, and also the question if this is an occurrence that has the inconvenience of not going its full cycle during his lifetime.

Perhaps CONGRESS is the cause of global warming? Lots of Hot Air emanating from there…

    Even without Algore present…

I thought BDS was supposed to end once GWB left office? Well, I guess there has been some improvement….it’s just DS now….

Mistake #1: The regressives believed they had sufficiently consolidated power to impose their will on all people.

Mistake #2: The natural cycles of the Earth, sun, moon, and surrounding objects, have presented an “inconvenient truth”, which they lack the means to deny. So, if they call us “deniers”, can we call them “flat earthers”, immoral, unethical, insane, or a similary contemptuous reference?

“it is probable that this may be part of a natural cycle – and not the direct result of man’s contributions”

Just like the behavior of the sun, they lack sufficient understanding of the Earth’s system. Back to the drawing board. Next time characterize your system properly, before presenting inane speculation as fact.

More good news? Well, at least on BnR. What a great day!

I vote for Oppurtunistic Ignorant Liar.

@ Machine – indeed. Though I’m not convinced about the ignorance, I think it’s more willful than that.

Deniers treasonous…naw, just wanting a discussion that Algore seems to have closed several years ago with a consensus in his mind. How about the congress-critters that have run our economy absolutely into the ground and caused us to be financially beholden to foreign powers that are opposed to our way of governance? That sounds rather treasonous to me.

    I’m just sayin’….
