Heh, San Fran isnt that bad. The town where my mother lives is so nasty they SELL you three trash bins which are mandatory. One for refuse, one for recycling (ok that one is getting common)…and one for compost.
Problem with the compost one is that they actually tell people to throw in the unused meat and such, but using meat to make compost makes bad compost…
oh and then they SELL this compost back to the citizens…
Oh and they’ll have people rip through your garbage to make sure you actually put paper and plastic in recycling, or that you properly removed the labels off plastic jugs…
And don’t forget the part where the mobster controlled refuse companies haul everything from all three containers to an illegal dumping ground/landfill anyway.
Bob–
Very Strong Performance, keep it up!
Bob, did you choose the term “Environmental Suckas” because “Environmental Idiots” was already taken?
Notice how ALgore was told to stay away from today’s Tax & Fade vote in the House? I wonder why…
great spot, and I love the graphic too. alternative energy can be a good thing, but the problem is the libs are just essentially SHOVING it down our throats as if we MUST do it or we’ll DIE SOON…good lord.
also, fred – my little city where I live has 3 bins as well – garbage, recycle, compost/plants/etc, so that’s par for the coarse
I still think somebody needs to sue Al Gore for his bullshit and SOMEHOW get his nobel peace prize plus his oscar YANKED!!
The spot today reminded me of your BS One segment last year. Good stuff
Speaking of Gore and “Big Green”:
“The Climate Change Climate Change”
online.wsj.com/article/SB124597505076157449.html
“Steve Fielding recently asked the Obama administration to reassure him on the science of man-made global warming. When the administration proved unhelpful, Mr. Fielding decided to vote against climate-change legislation.”
“[Fielding] is a member of the Australian Senate”
“It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as “deniers.”
“The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S.”
It seems we will have that “honest debate” whether they like it or not! The “best and brightest” will NOT be happy. Note to “best and brightest”: Science is not about consensus but evidence — get some!
Once again, chuckle… chuckle… Who am I kidding, this deserves an LOL!
I was taught back in elementary school the three “R”s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I’ve got no problem with people doing these things, and it just makes sense, and actually makes a difference, whereas cap and trade does nothing. Going “green” in a datacenter can save some money. The more efficient you are about cooling systems and power, the more money you save. I work in a little 7 story, 99 year old building with datacenters taking up the top two floors and we’re one of the people that the local power company calls to switch to generators on hot days to alleviate chances of a brown-out. Doing simple things can drop the power bill hundreds and thousands each month for a site like ours.
I live in a more rural area. To recycle, we have to bag it up and haul it ourselves to one of the 5 recycling bins in our small town. Grocery stores, farm supply stores and Wal-mart.
