I had things to do this morning so I missed The Speech. From what I hear, I didn’t miss much and either President Obama was playing those Muslims for ignorant fools, or the ignorant fool was him.
Okay. I know we’re not supposed to criticize Obama’s speech here. I know it’s going way off the reservation here to do this. But, folks, that is outrageous. This is simply outrageous. It was absurd, in fact. Let’s see. Where do we start here? “It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra.” No. The origins of algebra trace back to the ancient Babylonians. They were not Muslims. Algebra was temporarily developed by the ancient Greeks and later the English. “Our magnetic compass, tools of navigation,” Islam gave us these?
His facts were researched by a fifth grader, but this is an administration of petulant children with great power and they know it. But let’s get down to what this speech was really all about…
Basically, ladies and gentlemen, the speeches of President Obama always come down to the same thing. Somebody else must sacrifice to achieve the ends that he seeks. Today, the Israelis must sacrifice. They must sacrifice more than they have in the past and they must do so immediately and as Obama dictates.
Yesterday, General Motors workers had to sacrifice. They must sacrifice for future workers. The rest of us must sacrifice. We must drive smaller cars; we must buy smaller homes; we must use less energy; we must give up private health care; we must pay more taxes; we must eat less food; we must sacrifice-for-Obama to reach his ends. Every day somebody else has to sacrifice.
On the other hand, Obama is the one collecting all of the sacrifices. Obama sacrifices nothing. It’s all about him; it’s all about his ideology; it’s all about his worldview. Our lives and our futures revolve around him and his dream. Corporate CEOs, they’re admonished, “Don’t take the private jet to Vegas. Those days are over.” Obama takes two private jets and three helicopters to New York for dinner and a show.
President Obama need find someone other than public school graduates to do his research, because it’s making him look the fool. And the fact that Obama didn’t catch these errors prove it.

Well, the region where Islam resides DID provide a large amount of scientific knowledge to the devloping region. From astronomy to alchemy (really super early chemisty), and medicine, they were intelligent people. However, there was a decline after the region became wartorn.
You may be able to guess about what time that occured.

imo what this speech was about is hussein’s coming announcement that he is muslim.
and will serve as a conduit to unite our two peoples.

It looks as if the references regarding the contributions of Islam were taken from Wikipedia entries. I have occasionally debated liberals and they Love to take their talking points in these matters from Wikipedia. Certainly Islam has made important contributions to the world, but there is scholarly debate regarding a number of Obama’s assertions.
Still, his people are liberal, his people are Wikipedians. I doubt they doubt too much of anything, if it’s pro-Islam.
The fierce urgency of NOW means they do not double-check their facts. Clearly.

I think Geithner, Daschle, et al, pretty much proved that Obama isn’t for shit at doing his homework. The Affirmative Action president is used to getting by on his skin color, not on doing work.

LGF seemed to like the speech, for the most part.
When people talk about the contributions of Islam, I want to ask “But what have they done in the last millennium?”

Hehe, the Liberals might not mind the Muslim support & maybe control, but the Gay Libs won’t be too happy when the Muslims lop off their heads. The can get pissed at Conservatives & nothing will happen, but if they open their mouth under Shira Law, they will shut up quickly when their tongue is cut out. Islam, the Religion of Love!
Although Islam did contribute to some science, algebra wasn’t one of their discoveries.
