Quote Of The Day
Some of the people who told us we were foolish not to believe in all things Obama, are now facing the realization (although they’ll never admit it) they were suckered.
It’s nice to have someone in office who can read above a third-grade level. That’s new for us.
Barack Obama can definitely read the hell out of a teleprompter, but without them he sounds like a stuttering pothead.
He criticized the administration’s handling of possible war crimes as well as the taxpayer-funded bailouts showered on financial giants who plunged the nation into a recession.
I want a country that’s entirely just. A country that stands up for equality, justice and peace in an uncompromising way. No matter who’s in office, that’s what I will fight for and that’s what I will make music about.
– Tom Morello, Rage Against the Machine guitarist
Wow.
That’s making a difference.

Tom Morello is an annoying pansy, and in the words of Stan “The Man” Lee: ’nuff said

Bob, I swear these musicians are children. “Someone who reads above a 3rd grade level”, is he f*****g serious? You have to have a 3rd grade education to even say that. I would not make that comment about someone in the pen, let alone the former POTUS. I have read about Mr. Morello before, he is originally from Libertyville, Il, a north Chicago suburb. He used to wear an Mao hat. Geez, let’s see, wearing a hat that voices approval for a dictator responsible for approx. 25 million deaths. That’s 4 times what Hitler did. Who’s the 3rd grader?

So, a Harvard educated regressive finally recognized the glaring discrepancies between what is reported and reality. This doesn’t bode well for the rest of the human race. How long will we have to wait for the other regressives, who have not benefited from an “elite” education.
“It’s nice to have someone in office who can read above a third-grade level. That’s new for us.”
Of course, education is everything, right? The best and most virtuous people in this world are the highly educated. Of course, this misconception continues to be promoted by the “elites.” However, it is contradicted by reality (and “Dateline”). Intelligence is not a good indicator of goodness, nor virtue. Unfortunately, Morello just doesn’t “get it.” Maybe he should criticize people on true merit, rather than academic merit, which is often false and misleading.
He also missed the root of the problem in describing the cause of our crises. Did he forget the socialist policies that sabotage character development and subsequent destruction of the same? Did he forget the socialist agendas that sabotaged laissez-faire economics and capitalism? Did he forget the entitlement, welfare, and discriminatory programs perpetrated by the regressives — separate and unequal. Did he miss the consolidation of power and authority? Truly an enlightened mind.
He needs to travel the world, recognize the root problems, and stop laying blame on all things American. The greatest obstacles people face, more often than not, originate close to home. It’s time to recognize and promote individual dignity. It’s time to stop deferring to those claiming superior ability, and demonstrating none. It’s time to appreciate the freedom and opportunity this country offers to everyone.
On a related note. I have often wondered if “power corrupts people,” or do corrupt people seek power. Both statements are probably true.

Bob Parks: “Barack Obama can definitely read the hell out of a teleprompter, but without them he sounds like a stuttering pothead.”
I’m all for freely and widely admitting both those truths.

Nor, for that matter, is intelligence directly correlated with “advanced education.”

I know some supposedly highly intelligent people with college degrees that have played Golf in a thunder storm. If standing on high ground, holding a steel rod in your hand is intelligence, I must have gotten out of College before they scrambled my brain. I see that as total stupidity & absolutely no common sense at all.

“Nor, for that matter, is intelligence directly correlated…”
Good point. There are many examples to support your supposition, starting with the “best and brightest.”

Of course all the previous discussion about education and elitism, etc. are just fine, but the bottom line is why should anyone care what an entertainer (used rather loosely, IMO) has to say about politics?
This is one thing about the last two years that has driven me up the wall: who gives a sh** what any Baldwin brother, Garofalo, etc. has to say about politics. I have much more coherent, and edifying conversations with my autistic daughter than what I’ve heard from most of these idiots!
Moreover, why do folks like Sting and Bono even get to weigh in on our politics? They need to mind their own damn country, and STFU about the US!
Sorry, got carried away on that rant. I’m done.

“Shut Up and Sing” – I think Laura Ingraham said it best.

Musician?
No.
Decidedly NOT.
Just another creep with a guitar and a few chord patterns.
