I’m sure Barack Obama can appreciate the whole reason for Affirmative Action. In placing a 31-year-old punk with no private sector experience to basically dismantle General Motors, we’re clearly seeing who is now running our government: young, know-it-all, mediocres.
But that, in short, is the job description for Brian Deese, a not-quite graduate of Yale Law School who had never set foot in an automotive assembly plant until he took on his nearly unseen role in remaking the American automotive industry.
Mr. Deese’s role is unusual for someone who is neither a formally trained economist nor a business school graduate, and who never spent much time flipping through the endless studies about the future of the American and Japanese auto industries.
Mr. Deese’s route to the auto table at the White House was anything but a straight line. He is the son of a political science professor at Boston College (his father) and an engineer who works in renewable energy (his mother). He grew up in the Boston suburb of Belmont and attended Middlebury College in Vermont. He went to Washington to work on aid issues and was quickly hired by Nancy Birdsall, a widely respected authority on the effectiveness of international aid and the founder of the Center for Global Development.
Let’s not leave out that little stint at Center for American Progress, funded in part by George Soros.
The only conceivable upside to this is after the Obama nightmare is over, inexperienced immature academics will never be let anywhere near the reins of power ever again.

OMFG! Are they out of their damn minds??!? They really do want to absolutely kill our economy and hang the American people out to dry.
I agree … IF America survives the Obamanation, THEN Americans for generations will be inoculated against socialism.
after the Obama nightmare is over, inexperienced immature academics will never be let anywhere near the reins of power ever again.
Oh for it to be over … what day is it?
Soros truly is Dr. Evil.
“inexperienced immature academics will never be let anywhere near the reins of power ever again”
Well, at least until the next democrat administration. Not everybody is capable of wearing the big-boy pants as Obama is so clearly illustrating
The only conceivable upside to this is after the Obama nightmare is over,
rofl
you think this is going to be over?
look at the breakdown of this gm screwing.
the government now owns 60% of gm in exchange for an additional $30 billion in addition to the $20 billion gm was already given, essentially to keep the UAW afloat. The Canadian government kicked in for an additional 12.5% while the UAW will walk away with 17.5%. The remaining 10% will be owned by existing bondholders.
the UAW made out like bandits.
the stockholders got screwed.
and when the UAW want’s more money guess who’s gonna give it to them?
those are your cheeks they’re spreading and you haven’t bent over yet.
the UAW as a voting block are now squarely behind hussein in 2012.
they will vote for whomever he tells them to in 2010 as well.
he has only been in office how long?
and he’s already done this to gm.
and inserted hisself between state gov’t and labor unions in kahlifornia.
you think this is going to be over?
like the commies say *you ain’t seen nothing yet*.
Hey, respect for age and experience was tossed out during the presidential election. If Obama can run trillion dollar banks and two huge automakers, why can’t a 31 yr. old business virgin break his cherry running GM’s bankruptcy? Obama showed us being an elitist know-it-all is all that counts. It’s all in the attitude. Those older experienced businessman and women are just jealous. Age and experience is for loser b*****s!
