They generally refer to hybrids and electric cars as smugmobiles. I think it rather apropos. We have some neighbors, I don't know them personally, but they have a Mercedes SL convertable and a Prius. Both of which they park at the peak of their driveway, never in their garage. Oh, and they live on a corner as well. If there was ever a "look at what I drive" situation, that's it. Smug, indeed.
