Bronx, NY – Just before 6:30 a.m (05/14/09) a 9-year-old female yellow lab chow mix ran onto the Major Deegan Expressway and was hit by a car at Exit 3. That’s when another dog, her son, ran to the rescue, right there on the busy highway. The dog wouldn’t let anyone near, barking at traffic and police officers, even as they tried to help.
A proud mother moment.

very interesting. I’ve never seen that happen on a highway before
Dogs behaving better than many people I know….
So glad this story had a happy ending. He definitely was the Son of the Day.
And with Mothers Day just a few days back…….AWWWW
God Bless Em!
Why is it that a really cool story is somehow made less so to me by the info babes? They can’t just tell you what happened, it seems. They need to tell you how you should react to it, feel about it…. I get the same annoyance on a winter morning when they don’t just tell you it’s cold, they try to tell you how to dress. I already have a mommy and my own feelings, just tell me the story and skip your gushing over it and the commentary from that really strange vet tech.
