That means there are a few liberals still alive today, if not for the actions of President Bush and his administration’s use of enhanced interrogations.
The Central Intelligence Agency told CNSNews.com today that it stands by the assertion made in a May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that the use of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation on al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) — including the use of waterboarding — caused KSM to reveal information that allowed the U.S. government to thwart a planned attack on Los Angeles.
Before he was waterboarded, when KSM was asked about planned attacks on the United States, he ominously told his CIA interrogators, “Soon, you will know.”
So, let’s see all of the memos and find out how many more ungrateful, vengeful liberal lives have been saved thanks to the dilligence of the Bush Administration and CIA.

Torture is a sensitive subject. Which of us will stand up and cheer for it? I would probably agree that the ‘enhanced techniques’ used by the CIA constitute a type of torture, but with qualifications.
What was done to KSM and others was far milder than the methods routinely employed by communists for no more military a purpose than extracting falsified ‘confessions’, or, sometimes, just for the fun of it. Our purposes were, I gather, strictly related to getting information that would prevent having Americans die. KSM and his ilk can avoid the discomfort by simply telling us of their plans to kill us.
If faced with the choice of using ‘enhanced techniques’ or risking the lives of who knows how many innocent Americans on our own soil, I hope the decision is in the hands of someone who values my life — and those of my family and friends — more than he does the comfort and psychological balance of a KSM.
It is a sad day when folks that help protect our way of life have to get in front of a TV camera in order to justify and defend their actions that have resulted in our well being.
“Torture is a sensitive subject. Which of us will stand up and cheer for it? “
When it protects my family, YAAAAAYYYY!
If you’re not injured, it’s not torture. IMHO.
Although tickling comes close.
And if the Bush Administration had not prevented another attack, the MSM would have accused him of not doing enough.
Whatever path Prez. Bush took was wrong by the leftist standards.
i agree with the mach.
i have sort of a different take on these memos or whatever they’re called.
and their release.
i think hussein is setting the stage for shutting down the cia.
and this is his justification for doing it.
he’s gonna release as much as he can get away with, the left hates the cia anyway, and then he’ll either shut it down or reorganize it to spy on people like bob, and the machine, and mauser, and it nerd.
hoss & oldnyfirefighter would be on the list as well.
nick, trishmac, carolinagirl you too.
you getting pattern here?
Louie, I think I was already on the list as 1) I have Guns, 2) I have been to a few “Tea Parties”, 3) I will if necessary, support the Constitution with my life if need be 4) I make it a point to make sure the Liberals know I think their “Messiah” is an Asshole userper & should be prosecuted for Treason against the American Citizens & the Constitution. If this doesn’t put me on the “List”, I don’t know what will. Oh yeah, I have a complete disdain for Socialistic Parasites, AKA Liberals.
Clear on that Louie.
Seriously, I hope we have people that work for our country that are willing to do whatever it takes to keep us safe. God bless them. But, this is anathema to the left. I guess they would much rather see a major attack on Los Angeles. And that’s what’s funny about it all: the terrorists like to ply their trade in the big leftist cities.
What one person calls torture is not necessarily torture to another. A stun gun or taser hurts like hell, but our Police Agencies use them quite often. I once crawled between the two strands of a 3400 volt fence charger with wet feet & the bottom strand was just about even with rather tender parts of my anatomy & zowie, it hurt like nothing I have ever felt before. I think I walked on tippy toes for a couple of days. Was it torture? It sure as hell felt like it, but there was no permanent damage (except an unreasonable fear of fences). It would make you confess to anything to prevent getting another jolt, but is it torture? My wife & Daughters laughed so hard they almost peed their pants, so obviously to them, it wasn’t torture. If it will get vital information that will prevent hundreds or maybe thousands of people from being killed, without physical or mental damage to the detainee, it is not only the logical technique to use, it is the moral act of saving innocent lives as well.
Aw, if ya want ‘em tortured, send ‘em to me.
I’d like to see the proof and not just take the government’s word for it. It may work out for the CIA’s favor, it might not, but I’m beyond the point of trusting anything that comes from their mouths.
Even if it turns out to be true, I’d still work to end it, out of not trusting government. There is a market in intelligence after all.
It’s incredible to me that they continue gnash their teeth and rend their hair over “How Could They?!?”…
When the obvious question is “How Could They Not?”
