In this 1959 interview, her first on television, Ayn Rand capsulizes her philosophy for CBS’s Mike Wallace.

    I dunno, by modern standards, that was pretty good journalism. He wasn’t putting words in her mouth, and he allowed her to correct him when necessary. A good journalist is supposed to be a devil’s advocate in all areas, and he asked sensible rather than “gotcha” questions.

    Notice how the guy was pretty much mocking her, and you can see the part where he almost started laughing.

    She speaks sense, and he thinks it’s a joke.
