The naiveté of this administration will be our undoing. Remember Secretary of State Hillary “smart policy” Clinton wanting to mend fences with some of our longtime adversaries… like Syria?
The Saudi Arabian newspaper al-Watan reported today that Turkish security services have arrested a man of Syrian origins Friday in connection with a plot to assassinate President Barack Obama during his current visit to Turkey.
The man, who was carrying an Al-Jazeera TV ID card in the name of M.G., confessed after his arrest that he was planning on stabbing the U.S. president with a knife during the Alliance of Civilizations summit held in Istanbul, adding that he had three other accomplices to help him execute his plan.
Maybe we should rethink that reach out, as it would appear some there have already.
Obama may be an idiot, but he’s OUR idiot. And nobody should get away with attempting to assassinate the President of the United States no matter who it is.
That said, I kinda wish he’d gotten close enough to nick him and give Obama something to think about when it comes to Islamic Extremism.

a knife? considering I believe the leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan on 9-10 was killed with a bomb in a camera like this man was carrying (I’m not mistaken), I’m surprised he didn’t try to put a bomb in a camera case. sounds like he was some local anti-american hood, not connected with some organization, thinking “eh, death to america. I’ll stab him”
