Quote Of The Day

President Barack Obama, left, meets with Turkey's President Abdullah Gul in Ankara, Turkey, Monday, April 6, 2009. (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak)I wonder if President Obama has checked out, or read about, those mass marches in the streets where a common theme is “Death to America”, “Behead to those who don’t embrace Islam”. Now, I’m not saying we should be at war with Islam, but many Muslims consider themselves at war with us.

Let me say this as clearly as I can. The United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical … in rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths reject.

America’s relationship with the Muslim world cannot and will not be based on opposition to al Qaida. We seek broad engagement based upon mutual interests and mutual respect.

We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country.
Barack Obama, in an address to the Turkish parliament

That last line is subject to debate. Just ask some of those in the world, still in the burkas.

    “including my own country”.

Interesting choice of words there… Based on my limited 26 year life span here on planet earth, what can we say Islam has done to America to warrant that praise? Or could this be a slip by him and in reference to his true birth country?

    Hrmm…….

When Islam speaks out against it’s brothers in faith who endorse and enact terrorism, I’ll consider them as having done at least that one thing to shape the world for better.
    So far, not so much.
And so our president continues to bad mouth America, across the world. Nice first trip, real comforting having you at the helm, putting us down everywhere you go.
Can’t wait till you come back and fire a few more CEOs, and hand out some more of our money to some more undeserving folks.

If Al Qaeda is a “Fringe” element in Islam, then Islam looks like a Hippie’s suede vest – virtually ALL fringe.

I have a growing disdain for Islam in general, not only because it’s used to justify radical acts & ideology, the founding of it makes my stomach turn and a lot of other aspects of it well don’t really seem that great. For me, it’s hard to imagine anybody would follow such a faith. Steven Crowder discussed it and it still made my stomach turn..

    Examples, please?
