Don’t get me wrong; I really appreciate our little (albeit growing) community. But when choosing the best, who’s doing the choosing and how much do they really see before heaping praise?
The Top 40 Conservative Blogs For 2009
It’s time for me to rank my favorite blogs for the 1st quarter of 2009.Do keep in mind that as the quarter has progressed, some blogs have, of course, moved up and others have dropped, based on how often I visit them, how much I like what I see when I get there, how often the blogs are updated, etc., etc. Also, as per usual, do keep in mind that this sort of list changes frequently over time based on a variety of factors. So if a blog didn’t get included, it’s no big deal — it could be on the list next time. Let me also add that there are some very good blogs that I read almost daily, that didn’t make the list. If you see any blogs on there that you’re not familiar with, make sure to check them out.
Obviously Black & Right didn’t make the cut.
The writer even admits “a couple of the blogs on the list aren’t really conservative. However, they’re still very good and generally get lumped in with blogs on the right, so I decided to add them in anyway.”
I’d be willing to bet some on that list have yet to do talk radio interviews nationally, appear on numerous blog talk shows, produce their own radio spots and television shows, speak at colleges, not to mention appearances on CNN, C-SPAN twice, and even the BBC.
Some of us are the real deal and a little recognition doesn’t hurt.
Okay, I’m done venting.

You know, Mr. Parks, I’m with you. It irritates me that you don’t get included in things like this. What can I do to get the word out about your blog? It’s one of my favorite Conservative blogs and I wish more people followed you. I tweet your articles on Twitter sometimes. Maybe I’ll send Right Wing News a direct message on Twitter, just to try to spread the word.
another way of saying this is, bob is not in his fave five.
when the explanation of the reasons for the list are longer than the list…….whadjaxpect?
some listed aren’t really consevative, but the list is called the top 40 conservative blogs.
what’s that about?
why would B&R want to be on THAT kind of list?
My hat’s in the ring for you and B&R as well. Your participation in NMATV alone should get you recognized as an important conservative voice.
Keep on trucking. I read you and a couple others multiple times through the day. BTW, only one of the other blogs I read regularly is on his list.
it’s such bullshit that they don’t see your site Bob, it REALLY is. Nobody has your fastball, so to speak. Libs out there and some conservatives can’t even hit it. Hell if I know why they don’t walk away from the batter’s box thinking “DAMN how does he throw like that?”
I think it’s harder to get into the top slots anymore because all the big blogs with heavy traffic have already established their blogrolls.
I first visited B&R some time in the last year when Gates of Vienna did a blog post about your blog. Otherwise, I would have not known about B&R because I sort of have my routine blogs to visit. I then returned with more and more frequency to the point now when I’m visiting almost every day. I come because I like your posting and content style. Also, I can usually expect at least an item or two that has not been covered by the main conservative blogs.
These days, it just takes time to build up an audience.
I sent a message to RWN via Twitter with a link back to your blog.
Thanks for your note.
I decided to look at thr top five, excluding Michelle Malkin’s (I read hers and know it, the rest never heard of them). Yours is better. Maybe you do not have a link to his site?
Yours is better, i read it every morning.
Couldn’t live without my daily fix of B&R… Hubby knows not even to talk to me until I have coffee and have had my B&R fix. He also knows the appropriate response to “Oh my GOD” is to ask, “What did your idiot President do now??” (Not his President, he’s British… and yes, he gets an earful when you post the UK stories… just sighs and says, “Yup, saw that one coming.”)
This is a crime.
