As I must have missed it during my brief skims of the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, or U.S. Constitution, I don’t recognize the well-heralded “separation of church and state” thing. With that, most opinions have some validity, and in this case, we know to whom the author is referring.
It is widely accepted that Romans chapter 13 is saying every person who has ever been in, what we call, “power,” was put there by God, even the wicked. Until recently, I too held this belief. I figured that there was just something that I was not fully understanding.
Well, there sure was something that I was not fully understanding, like the entire meaning of the text. Fact is, God does not put the wicked into office.
Scripture says, (2 Samuel) He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
Hopefully, when our new president selects a church of his family’s liking, they may remind him of this. We know how influential churches can be in his life.

Hi Bob,
Thanks so much for posting a link to my article.
Obama will probably pick a Unitarian “church,” so that he can continue to be a snake while pretending to be a Christian.
Debra…
Has he gone to church yet? I seem to remember him going once after being sworn in. Face it, he’s gone as far as he can go in life, so he does not have to go to church anymore…. unless he gets in trouble. They always find their way back to church when they get caught screwing up.
when he does go to church we will have our answer to the question:
what church does jesus christ go to?
Whoever that person is, they could stand to do a lot more bible study…
most of the time biblical scripture is a little difficult for me to understand, but for some reason, in this case, it only took maybe 1 or 2 readings of each line and I understood them immediately, especially the line about “rewarding the wicked”
can you say “Geithner”?
