Gun Control: No Bullets
Most of us knew the new administration and Democrat congress would try to impose some kind of gun control, but there’s always been this one little hang-up: the Second Amendment. It looks like they found a way around that minor inconvenience.
A recent government policy change has taken a bite out of the nation’s already stressed ammunition supply, leaving arms dealers scrambling to find ammo for private gun owners.
Georgia Arms is a company that for the last 15 years has been purchasing fired brass shell casings from the Department of Defense and private government surplus liquidators. The military collects the discarded casings from fired rounds, then sells them through liquidators to companies like Georgia Arms that re-manufacture the casings into ammunition for the law enforcement and civilian gun owner communities.
But earlier this month, Georgia Arms received a canceled order, informed by its supplier that the government now requires fired brass casings be mutilated, in other words, destroyed to a scrap metal state.
I wondered why the Obama administration had so little to say about the dramatic increase in gun sales since they gained power. Now we know.
So people can buy all the guns they want and if the government can control the manufacture and distribution of ammunition, liberals will have all the “gun control” they’ve always dreamed of.
That’s change you’d better believe in.

that is the way liberals think.
but gun owners are an inventive lot.
the cost may increase, but a new source will be found.
thus continuing to confound the stoopid liberals.
as they continue in their attempt to destroy the country fomerly known as the united states of america.

The Department of Defense has reversed that order due to some calls from Senators, the NRA & other Pro-gun groups as of 5:30PM yesterday. I am wondering if it was a test to see just how organized the Pro-Gun Groups are. It was a complete reversal in a very short time. It seems they might be worrying we are more organized than they could have imagined.

If people can get other things via the underground market, I am sure some willing entrepreneurs from outside of the US can supply this need with no problem.

OldnyFirefighter,
Would you please post a link to the DOD order that reversed the decision to scrap fired brass.
I would like to copy the order and post it at my workplace. Many of my fellow employees are totally upset about the destruction order and we have all been flooding our representative and senators with e-mails.
Hopefully by posting the reversal, I can demonstrate the effectiveness of letting our hired-hands in DC know how we feel about idiot bureaucrats and their practice of making off handed decisions that cause hardships they never bother to consider.

Please disregard, I found the info on David Codrea’s Examiner site.
